Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are wrapping up their time at the 2022 Venice Film Festival.

The couple were seen at the airport together in Venice, Italy on Wednesday (September 7).

Penelope, 48, wore a sparkly black blouse and printed jeans, pairing the look with a gold Chanel belt and black bag. Javier, 53, kept things casual in a gray t-shirt, jeans and sneakers.

Penelope has been in Venice to support her new film, L’immensità, as well as the documentary On the Fringe. See the photos of her on the red carpet here.

After nearly two weeks of amazing fashion on the red carpet at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, the festival has finally come to an end.

A bunch of great stars walked the carpet for the closing ceremony on Saturday night (May 28) in Cannes, France.

Stars in attendance included the festival’s jury led by French actor Vincent Lindon and supported by Rebecca Hall, Deepika Padukone, Noomi Rapace, Jasmine Trinca, Asghar Farhadi, Lady Ly, Jeff Nichols, and Joachim Trier.

Dune: Part Two is in the works and Javier Bardem is opening up about the new draft of the script that he read.

The Oscar-winning actor will be reprising his role as Stilgar in the upcoming sequel and he commented on the film in a new interview.

“I’ve read the new draft, and I think they’ve done an amazing job of putting together the pieces in a way that is gonna surprise people,” Bardem said at the Cannes Film Festival (via Deadline). “They won’t be surprised [by what happens], obviously, because they’ve read the book, but they’ll be surprised by the way they put it together. I was very moved by it.”

“It’s a movie that is full, and you can feel the weight of it, and at the same time [you can enjoy] the spectacularity of it,” he added. “[I can’t wait] to go back to the desert with those people, and I’m so happy to go back with Denis, who is one of the greatest directors ever. He’s a lovely man.”

Penelope Cruz holds hands tight with husband Javier Bardem while arriving at the 2022 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 27) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The two actors are the second married couple to be nominated together this year. Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons are also nominated together.

Penelope and Javier are up for Best Actress for Parallels Mothers, and Best Actor for Being The Ricardos.

Make sure to tune in for the Oscars, airing TONIGHT at 8pm ET/5pm PT on ABC. The show is being hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes and an eclectic list of presenters will appear throughout the night.

Penelope Cruz wows in a gorgeous red dress while being honored at the 2022 Santa Barbara International Film Festival held at Arlington Theatre on Tuesday night (March 8) in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The 47-year-old actress was honored with the Montecito Award at the festival, and was feted by her friends and colleagues while speaking of her lengthy career. Penelope‘s husband Javier Bardem was seen in the audience looking very proud of her.

During a panel at the event, Penelope opened up about her off-screen romance with Javier.

“I would watch everything he did and I was shocked and blown away by his talent. And then it was a movie [Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona] that put us together… we hadn’t worked together in a long time but we had been friends… and after that movie, everything changed,” she said.

Penelope also opened up about them both getting Oscar nominations this year.

“It was crazy, it was beautiful,” she said. “I still, today, don’t believe that it has happened that way… When they announced Javier’s name for Best Actor I started to scream and he was not moving, not reacting! …He was waiting because he thought maybe they were going to say my name too, and I said ‘One, almost impossible. Two at the same time? Totally impossible.”

She added, “Then they said my name and that is when he started screaming! I loved his reaction so much, all my attention went to his generosity…what a beautiful reaction and so honest, he really could not enjoy his news until he heard my name.”
