'The Good Doctor' Actor Richard Schiff & Wife Sheila Kelley Test Positive for Coronavirus

Richard Schiff has announced that he and wife Sheila Kelley, who both appear on The Good Doctor, have both tested positive for Coronavirus.

The 65-year-old actor and the 59-year-old actress both took to their social media accounts on Tuesday (November 10) to announce that they are self-isolating at their home in Vancouver, Canada after contracting the virus.

“On Election Day I tested positive for Covid-19. This has been the most bizarre week of our lives. @thesheilakelley is also positive,” Richard wrote on Twitter. “This is tough. We are determined to find a way to health again. We root for everyone out there who are struggling with this thing. Love from here.”

Sheila also shared a post on Instagram writing, “Richard and I have some news. We have both tested positive for COVID-19. We‘re quarantined in our home in Vancouver, recovering. This virus is a slippery sucker. One minute you feel almost fine and the next you can’t catch your breath. Symptoms change radically daily even hourly.”

“I am grateful for @s.factor.official embodiment practice as it tunes me deeply into my body. It is helping me cope from minute to minute,” Sheila continued. “For those of you who do not have this virus stay healthy keep practicing physical distancing. If you have Covid we’re in this together. Breath deeply. Breath slowly. Breath fully. We will get through this together.”

According to Deadline, production for The Good Doctor has continued as Richard and Sheila have been self-isolating. The filming schedule has been reworked to accommodate their temporary absence.

We hope Richard and Sheila get well soon!

Freddie Highmore Says His 'Good Doctor' Character Is 'Probably A Better Person Than' Him

Freddie Highmore is dapper in a suit while hitting the carpet at the For Your Consideration Event for his hit ABC show The Good Doctor held at Sony Pictures Studios on Tuesday (May 22) in Culver City, Calif.

The 26-year-old actor was joined at the event by his co-stars Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Sheila Kelley, Tamlyn Tomita, Richard Schiff and executive producer Erin Gunn.

Freddie opened up about how his character, Dr. Shaun Murphy, has influenced his own life: “Shaun is probably a better person than me. He’s less cynical — my British cynicism has certainly lessened.”

“That’s hopefully the point of the show,” Freddie continued (via Deadline). “We learn from Shaun as he learns from the codes of the environment he is in. Hopefully, all of us as an audience and like the other characters on the show are learning from Shaun.”
