Jane Fonda is sharing anecdotes about some of her many co-stars from over the years, and she isn’t holding back!

The 85-year-old screen icon opened up about her past collaborators during an interview in the midst of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

In the process, she discussed everyone from Robert Redford and Katharine Hepburn to Michael Douglas and Lily Tomlin.

Jane revealed who is her favorite person to work with, hypothesized that two stars didn’t like her, said another “has an issue with women” and that another had lost their looks. We gathered together some of the most noteworthy recollections.

Robert Redford is speaking out after hearing of Betty White‘s death at the age of 99.

If you’re unaware, Betty had a big crush on the actor/director.

“My answer to anything under the sun, like ‘What have you not done in the business that you’ve always wanted to do?’ is ‘Robert Redford’,” she shared in a previous interview.

After hearing of Betty‘s passing, Robert shared his thoughts on the icon.

Robert Redford is in mourning after losing his son, James Redford.

The 84-year-old actor and filmmaker released a statement after news broke that James had passed away at the age of 58.

“The grief is immeasurable with the loss of a child,” Cindi Berger, Robert‘s rep, shared with People.

She added that “Jamie was a loving son, husband and father. His legacy lives on through his children, art, filmmaking and devoted passion to conservation and the environment.”

James‘s passing was announced by his wife, Kyle, who added that he passed away after a battle with bile-duct cancer in his liver.

He was Robert‘s third child with his ex-wife Lola Van Wagenen, who he shared four children with.

James Redford has sadly died.

The son of Robert Redford, who followed in his footsteps as a filmmaker and activist in his own right, passed away at his home on Friday (October 16) in Marin County, Calif. at the age of 58, his wife Kyle confirmed on Twitter.

“Jamie died today. We’re heartbroken. He lived a beautiful, impactful life & was loved by many. He will be deeply missed. As his wife of 32 [years], I’m most grateful for the two spectacular children we raised together. I don’t know what we would’ve done [without] them over the past 2 [years],” she wrote.

She later confirmed in an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune that he died due to bile-duct cancer in his liver, discovered last November while awaiting a transplant.

James was known mostly for documentary work, including The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia and Toxic Hot Seat. His most recent film, Playing for Keeps, had its premiere this month at the Mill Valley Film Festival, and explored the health benefits of play time for children and adults.

Our thoughts are with James Redford‘s loved ones at this difficult time.

The 2019 Sundance Film Festival just kicked off and Robert Redford, the founder of the festival, surprisingly announced that he will be taking a backseat role from now on.

During a press conference to open the festival on Thursday (January 24), the 82-year-old actor and filmmaker made a brief appearance.

“Having done this for God, 34 years now, since the festival started,” Redford said (via Deadline). “I think we are at a point where I can move on to a different place.”

“I don’t think the festival needs a whole lot of introduction now,” he added.

Last year, Redford announced that his movie The Old Man & The Gun would mark his final appearance on the big screen.

The 20-year-old actor and rapper was honored with the first ever Robert Redford Award at the event.

The Robert Redford Award was created to honor Robert and his “decades-long environmental legacy and will be presented to a revered artist committed to using their voice to protect the earth and to create a more just and sustainable future for us all.”

“There’s really no better first person to honor in this particular moment with this award,” James said in a press release. “Jaden is a model for young people, and my Dad and I both understand how important it is to support the positivity and solutions of younger generations right now.”
