Fire Country is hot as ever, and it’s getting even bigger.
The CBS drama proved to be an early hit when it arrived in October of 2022, and by January of 2023, the series was renewed for a second season. Now, a spinoff is already in the works!
In the series, Bode Donovan is a young convict with a troubled past hoping to redeem himself by volunteering for the California Conservation Camp Program, in which prisoners assist the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, known as Cal Fire. The series follows him as he’s assigned to his hometown in Northern California as he works with former friends, other inmates and firefighters putting out fires in the region.

Just days after the Tony Awards nominations were announced, the first casualty of the Broadway season has been revealed.
The new musical Lempicka will sadly close later this month, marking a short run for the polarizing show that has drawn both raves and pans from critics.
Lempicka is a new musical about the true story of renowned artist Tamara de Lempicka. Spanning decades of political and personal turmoil and told through a thrilling, pop-infused score, Lempicka boldly explores the contradictions of a world in crisis, a woman ahead of her era, and an artist whose time has finally come.
Stars Eden Espinosa and Amber Iman, who both earned Tony nominations for their performances, have discussed the mixed reviews their show has received.

Patti LuPone is heading back to Broadway this summer in the new comedy The Roommate, just two years after she gave up her Actor’s Equity membership card.
For those who don’t know, Actor’s Equity Association is the union that represents live theatre actors, including all of the performers on Broadway.
Back in 2022, Patti called Actor’s Equity the “worst union” and decided to withdraw her membership after five decades.
“They accepted my resignation and told me that if I ever wanted to rejoin, I’d have to be approved,” Patti told People at the time. “And it’s the perfect reason I withdrew from Equity. Fifty years to this year … I’ve been a card-carrying member of Equity, and they don’t know who I am basically. They just said, ‘Fine, but if you want to rejoin, we’re going to have to approve you.’”
“I just thought, ‘This is ridiculous.’ And I don’t know when I’m going to be back on stage,” she added. “But then the best kept secret is that you can perform without being a member of Equity. Nobody knows that, so I don’t use their services. So, I’m not a member of Equity anymore.”

The new action-comedy movie The Fall Guy is being criticized for a joke involving Amber Heard and Johnny Depp.
As you’re probably aware, Amber and Johnny got married in 2015 and then ended their marriage just over a year later. They ended up in a legal battle for years over several claims from both sides, including domestic violence allegations.
In The Fall Guy, Ryan Gosling stars as Colt Seavers, a battle-scarred stuntman who, having left the business a year earlier to focus on both his physical and mental health, is drafted back into service when the star of a mega-budget studio movie — being directed by his ex, Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt) – goes missing.
The Amber-Johnny joke in the movie is delivered by Hannah Waddingham, who plays producer Gail Meyer.
