Amber Valletta graces the cover of Allure magazine’s June 2014 issue, out on newsstands Tuesday, May 27!
Here’s what the 40-year-old actress had to share:
On short hair: “Women with short hair are really sexy. There’s something liberating about freeing yourself from the norms.”
On how modeling has gotten harder with age: “I’ve been modeling so long that its kind of second nature. It’s harder, now that I don’t do it every day, to control the muscles in my face and pose; I don’t have the control that I had before. I’m probably older. I am older, not ‘probably.’ I think that makes a difference. But I bring all of myself to whatever I do.”
On moving beyond being a supermodel and becoming an actress: “Eventually you have to retire. When you’ve only focused on one thing, and you were great at that one thing, you do feel lost. Like, Who am I?… I had to be willing to not be the best or not be at the top of my game in order to try to find peace with it and then come back. Life is boring if you’re always the same. Clearly. Look at how many times I change my hair.”
