'The Outsider' Cancelled at HBO, Show Being Shopped Elsewhere

HBO’s The Outsider has been cancelled and the network will not pursue a second season.

However, there is some hopeful news for fans of the show. MRC, the studio behind season one, will be shopping a second season to other networks and streaming services, Variety reports.

“We enjoyed our collaboration with Richard, Jason, Andrew, and the MRC team, and we wish them well in continuing the world created by the brilliant Stephen King,” an HBO spokesperson said about the cancellation.

There have been a lot of shows cancelled throughout the entirety of 2020 and Netflix especially has been cancelling left and right. Find out which shows have been recently cancelled by Netflix in the past few months.

Tilda Swinton & Camila Morrone Help Close Out Marrakech International Film Festival!

HBO Debuts Trailer for New Series 'The Outsider,' Starring Jason Bateman!

Jason Bateman is continuing his successful run on television with a new series titled The Outsider and HBO just debuted the official trailer!

The 50-year-old actor most recently starred on the Netflix series Ozark and he also was part of the ensemble cast of Arrested Development.

Now, Jason has teamed up with Ben Mendelsohn and Cynthia Erivo for the new HBO series.

The 10-episode series follows police detective Ralph Anderson (Mendelsohn), as he sets out to investigate the mutilated body of 11-year-old Frankie Peterson found in the Georgia woods. The mysterious circumstances surrounding this horrifying crime leads Ralph, still grieving the recent death of his own son, to bring in unorthodox private investigator Holly Gibney (Erivo), whose uncanny abilities he hopes will help explain the unexplainable.

Jason Bateman has found himself in the middle of a murder investigation in The Outsider.

HBO has released the first trailer for their upcoming thriller miniseries.

Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel of the same name, The Outsider begins with a seemingly straightforward investigation into the gruesome murder of a young boy. But when an insidious supernatural force edges its way into the case, it leads a seasoned cop and an unorthodox investigator to question everything they believe in.

The series also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Cynthia Erivo, Bill Camp, Mare Winningham, Paddy Considine, and Marc Menchaca.

The Outsider will premiere on HBO on January 12, 2020.

Timothee Chalamet Is Truly 'The King' of Fashion in Venice

Timothee Chalamet looks incredible while walking the red carpet at the premiere of The King during the 2019 Venice Film Festival on Monday (September 2) in Venice, Italy.

The 23-year-old Oscar-nominated actor stars in the upcoming Netflix movie and he rocked a look by Haider Ackermann at the premiere. The designer even joined him on the red carpet along with entertainer Kid Cudi.

Also at the premiere were Timothee‘s co-stars Lily-Rose Depp, Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton (who also co-wrote the film), Sean Harris, and Tom Glynn-Carney, as well as director and co-writer David Michod.

The film will be released on Netflix this fall.

The movie will hit select theaters and premiere on Netflix this fall.

Here’s a plot summary: Hal (Chalamet), wayward prince and reluctant heir to the English throne, has turned his back on royal life and is living among the people. But when his tyrannical father dies, Hal is crowned King Henry V and is forced to embrace the life he had previously tried to escape. Now the young king must navigate the palace politics, chaos and war his father left behind, and the emotional strings of his past life — including his relationship with his closest friend and mentor, the ageing alcoholic knight, John Falstaff (Joel Edgerton).

The movie was directed by David Michôd and co-stars Sean Harris, Ben Mendelsohn, Robert Pattinson and Lily-Rose Depp.

Will Smith and Tom Holland join forces for the new animated film Spies in Disguise!

The 50-year-old Aladdin actor and the 23-year-old Spider-Man: Far From Home actor both lend their voices to the upcoming comedy.

The movie is directed by Troy Quane and Nick Bruno and inspired by the animated short film Pigeon: Impossible by Lucas Martell.

It also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Karen Gillan, Rashida Jones, DJ Khaled, and Masi Oka.

Here’s the synopsis: “Super spy Lance Sterling (Will Smith) and scientist Walter Beckett (Tom Holland) are almost exact opposites. Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is … not. But when events take an unexpected turn, this unlikely duo are forced to team up for the ultimate mission that will require an almost impossible disguise – transforming Lance into the brave, fierce, majestic… pigeon. Walter and Lance suddenly have to work as a team, or the whole world is in peril.”
