The first screening of the movie Babylon just took place and reactions from critics have been revealed!

Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, director Damien Chazelle, and more were in attendance for the event at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Monday night (November 14) in Los Angeles.

Also participating in the Q&A were cast members Jean Smart, Tobey Maguire, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, Lukas Haas, and rising star Diego Calva, who is getting a lot of awards buzz.

Official reviews are still embargoed, but critics were allowed to share their thoughts on social media after the screening. It seems the reactions are all over the place at the moment, with some loving the movie and some not being into it.

The trailer for Damien Chazelle‘s Babylon has finally arrived, and it features a funny Brad Pitt moment!

At one point in the trailer, Brad is doing a little dance on what appears to be a balcony, before losing his footing and falling backwards.

The film is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.

Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt look like the life of the party in the first posters for their upcoming movie, Babylon.

The upcoming movie, written and directed by Damien Chazelle, will also star Li Jun Li, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, and Diego Calva.

During a Q&A panel at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival this week, Damien opened up about the movie.

“I have always loved silent films. I am one of the disciples of the idea of pure cinema,” he shared. “The high points of the silent era are some of the high points of cinema, period.”

Damien went on, saying that “Babylon is the biggest number of roles I have juggled by far. The casting process took a long long time. It’s a mostly fictional film where almost all of the characters are inspired by composites of real-life people.”

“It was about capturing the spirit of that time which was a lot more wild west,” he continued. “They are building a city and industry from scratch and to do that thou need a certain kind of crazy person. I don’t think it is surprising that the people that did that, did a lot of drugs and partied a lot.”

Babylon will hit theaters on December 25.

Emma Stone and Brad Pitt might be co-starring in a new project!

The 31-year-old La La Land actress and the 55-year-old Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor are in talks to star in the Damien Chazelle-directed Babylon, THR reported on Monday (November 11).

No deals have been set yet for the project. Damien previously directed Emma in the Academy Award-winning La La Land.

The story is “said to be set in the late 1920s, during the movie industry’s transition from silent films to talkies. The rise and fall of fictional and historical characters figure into the proceedings.”

Emma would play Clara Bow, and Brad would play a fictional silent film star who fails to make the transition to the new technology, reportedly based on real-life figure John Gilbert.

The film is set for a December 25, 2021 limited theatrical release before going wide on January 7, 2022.

Brad Pitt is reportedly in talks to join the cast of upcoming 1920s Hollywood drama Babylon!

The 55-year-old actor would star alongside Emma Stone in the film directed by La La Land filmmaker Damien Chazelle.

According to Deadline, Brad has not yet made a commitment to the film but is in the mix.

Not much is known about the movie just yet, but it’s said to be “set during the movie industry’s transition from silent films to talkies. The rise and fall of fictional and historical characters figure into the proceedings.”

It will reportedly include a mix of real and fictional characters.

The film will be produced by La La Land‘s Marc Platt, as well as Tobey Maguire and Damien‘s wife Olivia Hamilton.

Emma Stone is in talks to star in an upcoming 1920s Hollywood movie Babylon, directed by Damien Chazelle.

The 30-year-old actress and the 34-year-old actor previously worked together on the Oscar-winning film La La Land. THR reports that no formal deal has been made to Emma just yet.
