Jodie Foster Addresses Rumors She Introduced Shailene Woodley & Aaron Rodgers

Jodie Foster is sharing her thoughts on getting a shout out from Aaron Rodgers in his NFL MVP acceptance speech.

In case you missed it, the Green Bay Packers quarterback announced that he was engaged while accepting the MVP award for the 2020 season. A source then confirmed that the person he was engaged to was Shailene Woodley.

He also thanked Jodie Foster during his speech, leading fans to theorize pair could have been introduced to each other by the actress, who stars alongside Shailene in The Mauritanian.

Jodie discussed Aaron‘s mention in a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

She started off by confirming that she’s a “big Packers fan” and joked, “You see, he said ‘my team,’ even though he said ‘off the field.’ That makes me a Green Bay Packer. People keep saying to me, ‘No, Jodie, that does not mean you’re part of the team.’ But it does mean I’m part of the team.”

When Jimmy asked if she knew Aaron personally, she responded with an energetic, “No!”

“You had no idea he was going to say this?” Jimmy asked. Jodie answered, “He just knows I’m his biggest fan.”

“He mentions his fiancée, who is Shailene Woodley, who is your co-star in this particular movie,” Jimmy continued. “And that’s just a total coincidence?”

Jodie kept her response ambiguous and replied, “I don’t know if that’s a coincidence, but yes, she is, and she’s fantastic. So we spent a lot of time on The Mauritanian together in a little tent with a little air-conditioning spitting at us, talking about our lives and recipes and people we hate and things like that.”

Jodie also told Jimmy that she’d be willing to return the favor by thanking the Packers in her Golden Globes acceptance speech and added, “I may have to name the whole team. Davante Adams has to be in there somewhere.”

Jodie Foster & Anthony Hopkins Reunite to Reflect on 'Silence of the Lambs' 30 Years Later

“We didn’t get to speak too much before the actual read-through. We just sort of kind of waved from across the room and then sat down at the table,” Jodie.

“And as you launched into Hannibal Lecter, I felt a chill come over the room. In a way, it was like we were almost too scared to talk to each other after that,” she went on to say to her co-star.

“I was naturally nervous, an Englishman — a Limey like me, a Welshman — playing an American serial killer. And I remember [director Jonathan Demme], when the camera picked me up, he said, ‘Oh, my God. That’s it. Hopkins. You’re so weird!’” Anthony recalled.

“And I said, ‘Why, thank you.’ And they wanted the lighting girl to come into my cell, and I said, ‘What are you doing in my cell?’ And [Jonathan] said, ‘Oh, my God.’ So I knew I had pressed the right button,” he went on to say.

“I felt like I never had an actor’s personality. Much to my chagrin, it does not come naturally to me, or easily. I’m much more of a reader or a thinker. I’m a chess mover. Acting was just something that was my family’s job, my family’s profession, that I fell into. I have to say, at least once a week, I say, ‘Oh, I’m never going act again.’ But it draws you back in. I think it’s good for somebody like me, who does live in their head a lot — to get out of my head and have to live in my body. And I think that’s benefited me as a person,” Jodie added.

Kristen Stewart Gushes About Two of Her Favorite Actresses

Kristen Stewart looks stunning on one of three covers for Stellar‘s 150th issue, honoring strong women of the screen!

Here’s what the 29-year-old Snow White and the Huntsman actress had to share with the mag:

On overcoming the scrutiny that came with her appearance in the blockbuster Twilight films – and learning to balance her private and public lives: “It’s a lot about relinquishing control. I’m really not worried about anything that might happen. The worst thing is that I could fall on my face anywhere, and listen, it’s really not that bad when people fall down. It doesn’t matter. It’s gotten a lot easier for me to not take it too seriously and not feel, like, immense pressure while talking to people. It’s not scary anymore because I actually see how cool it is that I get to connect with so many people.”

On Jodie Foster, a mentor and early co-star in 2002’s Panic Room: “She’s sort of anti-Hollywood and not in the way that is remotely disdainful; it’s that her sensibilities are so uniquely creative and singular. I love her. If we had to represent the human race to an alien planet, I have a shortlist and it would be Cate Blanchett and Jodie Foster who would need to go up and represent us [laughs].”

On the original 1970s Charlie’s Angels television series being seen as either a revolutionary show for women or a voyeuristic show for men: “I have no conflicted feelings by saying that I think some of the most beautiful stories are told about women by men. But there is just a distinctly different gaze in Liz’s perspective. It’s really rad that we’re starting to value a diversified perspective because we’ve been missing out on so many incredible stories… Women want to look sexy and want to look sexy to each other. It’s totally independent of sexualizing it – you can still run around in your underwear as long as you’re the one owning that. There was something really aspirational watching Cameron Diaz dancing around in her underwear [in 2000’s Charlie’s Angels]. I want the movie to be a lot more than that, but at the same time just repossessing beauty in this way is really only available to us now.”
