Rooney Mara attends the 2012 Costume Designers Guild Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (February 21) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 26-year-old actress – in a J. Mendel dress with a plunging neckline – met up with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo costume designer Trish Summerville on the carpet.

“[Award season has] been an amazing experience. I’ve been lucky that I’ve been surrounded by really amazing people, so it’s been great,” Rooney recently told reporters.

“It seems crazy when I’m in a setting like this, but then I just go home and life feels very normal,” she added.

Rooney Mara steps out with boyfriend Charles McDowell on Friday (February 17) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 26-year-old Oscar nominee picked up a drink from Starbucks and also went shopping at Anthropologie with a few friends.

Earlier this month, Rooney attended the Santa Barbara International Film Festival where reporters asked her if she could relate to her Girl With the Dragon Tattoo character, Lisbeth.

“I think, in my real life, I have a little bit of that myself. To be socialized, you have to try not to be that way, but I think I’m pretty matter-of-fact myself,” she shared.

“I don’t really think of it like that. I never really thought, ‘Okay, I’m in character now. Now, I’m out of character.’ I’m sure that a lot of the character did rub off on me, but it’s not anything I’m really conscious of,” Rooney added.

Emma Stone and Rooney Mara sit front row at the Calvin Klein Collection Fall 2012 presentation during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Thursday (February 16) in New York City.

Both actresses will be attending this year’s Academy Awards on Sunday, February 26, at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre.

Emma, 23, will be one of the night’s presenters. Her film, The Help, is also nominated for Best Picture.

Rooney, meanwhile, is up for Best Actress for her role in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs), Viola Davis (The Help), Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady), and Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn) are also in the running.

Rooney Mara and Shailene Woodley arrive at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival‘s Virtuosos Award Tribute held at the Arlington Theater on Friday (February 3) in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The 26-year-old actress was honored “for her dark and provocative performance as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” while Shailene, 20, was recognized for “bringing an emotional complexity to a character rarely seen at her age in The Descendants.”

The two actresses are expected at this year’s Academy Awards, where both of their films are nominated for Best Picture.

Rooney is also in the running for Best Actress with Glenn Close, Viola Davis, Meryl Streep, and Michelle Williams!

FYI: Rooney is wearing a Louis Vuitton dress with Giambattista Valli shoes. Shailene paired her 3.1 Phillip Lim dress with Pierre Hardy shoes.
