Julie Chen Officially Exits 'The Talk'

Julie Chen has officially left The Talk amid her husband Les Moonves‘ firing from CBS over allegations of sexual misconduct.

The announcement was made via a video message on the show on Tuesday (September 18).

“I have been at The Talk since the day it started nine years ago, and the cast, crew and staff have become family to me over the years. But right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son. So I’ve decided to leave The Talk. I want to thank everyone at the show for our wonderful years together. I will always, always cherish the memories we shared. Most important, I want to thank you, the viewers, for allowing me into your home every day. It was a privilege that I will forever be grateful for. To everyone behind the scenes… I send you my love. I will miss you all very, very much,” she said.

In the message, she also addressed her co-hosts, Eve, Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert and Sharon Osbourne.

To Sharon and Sara, she said, “We’ve been together since Day 1 at The Talk. I’ve spent every day with you both. I will always treasure our friendship, the great parenting advice from both of you and the memories and laughs and all the private jokes that the three of us have shared. We are the original Three Musketeers. I love you all, and I know that this show, and the sisterhood that it stands for, will live on for many, many, many more years to come. You ladies got this, and I cannot be more proud to call you my friends. I love you.”

Julie has been on The Talk since it began in October of 2010.

Julie Chen is reportedly leaving The Talk amid the controversy surrounding her husband Les Moonves.

Moonves was accused of sexual assault and violence, and left his position as an exec at CBS.

On her decision regarding The Talk, a source told CNN, “She has decided that her main focus needs to be clearing her husband’s name from accusations made 25-30 years ago and tending to her son.”

Julie will reportedly continue her duties as the host of Big Brother.

The announcement will become official on Tuesday’s episode of The Talk, where Julie will apparently appear via video message.

JustJared.com‘s editor-in-chief Jared Eng sits down with the ladies of The Talk as the “top talker” on Monday (June 11) to discuss Kelly Clarkson‘s admission that she’s too scared to do any cosmetic procedures.

Kelly recently lost 37 pounds and she revealed that she did it without exercising or getting a procedure!

“I wish I could do it. I’m afraid of it,” the 36-year-old singer on The Today Show last week about cosmetic surgery. “I do have friends that get it done. You look at your forehead and you’re like, ‘Yeah, there’s lines.’ And then I’m like, ‘It’s called Botulinum toxin. Who puts that on your face. It actually says toxin in the name!’”

Jared posed this question to the hosts of The Talk: “Is there a procedure you are afraid to get done?”

Sara Gilbert & 'The Talk' Co-Hosts Discuss Lance Bass Hiding Sexuality During *NSYNC Days (Video)

Lance Bass‘ sexuality was a main topic on The Talk this week.

During *NYSNC‘s Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony, the 38-year-old band member opened up about his decision to hide being gay because he was “terrified of the lasting rejection.”

After the ceremony, the ladies of the CBS talk show – including Sara Gilbert, who is openly gay – reacted to Lance‘s explanation behind staying in the closet.

“I don’t know if it was the right thing, but I understand why he felt that way because so many people felt that way,” Sara said. “It certainly wasn’t the wrong thing if he felt that was what he needed to do. But I think the higher good is to be able to say something and I think we’re in a climate now where people feel safe to do that.”
