Tracy Morgan Gives First Interview on Fatal Car Crash (Video)

Tracy Morgan is speaking out for the first time about the fatal car crash that severely injured him in a new interview with The Today Show, which aired on Monday (June 1).

“I can’t believe I’m here. I can’t believe I’m in front of you,” the 46-year-old said at the beginning of the segment. “I can’t believe I’m just here, and just seeing the tragedy that happened. It touches me.”

Tracy opened up about the loss of his friend, comedian James McNair, who died in the crash.

“The case is settled, but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mac,” Tracy said. “Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal… [Mac] was a close friend of mine, a comrade in comedy. He was a loving man, and he was a warm man. He was a good man. It’s just hard for me to see that he’s gone.”

Tracy also said that he is still feeling pain these days.

“There are times where I have my good day and my bad days, where I forget things,” he said. “There are times where I get the headaches, and the nose bleeds. I won’t even let my lady know because I don’t want her to be worried about it.”

Tracy Morgan Settles Lawsuit With Walmart Over Fatal Crash

Tracy Morgan has officially settled a lawsuit with Walmart over the deadly accident that killed comedian James McNair and left him and several others severely injured last June in N.J.

The 46-year-old actor and two other plantiffs reached settlements in the case, which will remain confidential.

“Our thoughts continue to go out to everyone that was involved in the accident,” Greg Foran, Walmart U.S. president and CEO, said in the statement (via NBC). “While we know there is nothing that can change what happened, Walmart has been committed to doing what’s right to help ensure the well-being of all of those who were impacted by the accident. We worked closely with Mr. Morelli, and we are pleased to have reached an amicable settlement that ends this litigation. We are deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved.”

Meanwhile, Tracy‘s agent, Lewis Kay, said he had “nothing else to add at this time to the statement that Walmart put out.”

Tracy Morgan Uses His Walker After His Case Against Walmart Moves Forward

Tracy Morgan steps out with the help of his walker and a friend while stopping by a barber shop on Sunday (December 14) in Cresskill, N.J.

The 46-year-old actor received some good news this weekend in his case against Walmart following the horrific accident he was involved in that left him severely injured.

Kevin Roper, the man who was driving the Walmart truck that slammed into Tracy‘s van, asked to have the civil case delayed as it could affect the outcome of his criminal case, even though he is not a defendant in the civil case.

Tracy is able to move forward with his plans to sue Walmart without a delay after U.S. District Judge Michael Shipp said the driver failed to show he requires “emergent relief,” according to the Associated Press.

Tracy Morgan May Never Perform Again Due To His Car Crash Injuries

Tracy Morgan‘s prognosis after his car accident is still not clear, his lawyer has said.

“The jury’s still out,” Benedict Morelli, Tracy‘s lawyer, told The New York Post about whether he will ever perform again. ”The doctors don’t know the answer. I don’t know the answer.”

This news of Tracy‘s prognosis comes on the heels of his Walmart saying they were not at fault for the crash because Tracy and his friends were not wearing seatbelts.

We continue sending Tracy well wishes during his recovery.
