Britney Spears' Dad Responds to #FreeBritney Movement, Calls It a Conspiracy Theory

Britney Spears‘ dad Jamie Spears is slamming the #FreeBritney movement and he calls the campaign a “joke.”

The 38-year-old singer has been under a conservatorship for the past 12 years and her father is able to make many decisions for her. Fans believe that Britney should be able to control her own life and want the conservatorship to end.

“All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue,” Jamie told The Post. “It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.”

Jamie also responded to claims that he is stealing money from Britney and said, “I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year. How the hell would I steal something?”

Jamie also opened up about what bothers him about the #FreeBritney campaign. He said, “People are being stalked and targeted with death threats. It’s horrible. We don’t want those kinds of fans. I love my daughter. I love all my kids. But this is our business. It’s private.”

A hearing for the conservatorship was supposed to be held last week, but it had to be canceled after something that fans did.

Britney Spears' Conservatorship Virtual Hearing Postponed Due to Four Unauthorized Individuals Accessing the Video Link

Britney Spears‘ conservatorship hearing has been postponed.

The 38-year-old Glory pop icon’s virtual court hearing, which was set to happen Wednesday (July 22), was postponed after four individuals “illegally accessed the court’s digital video link system,” The Blast reported Thursday (July 23).

The individuals “refused to leave…popping back up several times after being ordered by the judge to exit the system,” the outlet reports of the case, held within the Los Angeles courtroom system.

The individuals were “not authorized to listen in the private hearing, and the judge was forced to stop the proceedings….several individuals who were present inside the courtroom originally stated once leaving that Britney herself was having ‘technical difficulties’ joining the hearing. We’re told that is not the case. The issue is the judge was unable to continue the hearing once the four people were able to access the video link.”

The judge was “frustrated with the situation” and decided to push back the hearing until August.

“LACourtConnect is not authorized for use by anyone other than litigants and attorneys and others involved in a case – it is not authorized for media use,” a spokesperson of the L.A courts told The Blast.

“We understand that some media representatives were able to access the system yesterday. The Court is preparing an advisory to clear up any misunderstanding or misinformation about the use of the remote appearance technology.”

According to The Blast‘s sources, one of the people was a “documentary filmmaker.”

Britney‘s brother, Bryan Spears, just spoke about the viral #FreeBritney movement on social media amid concerns among fans regarding Britney‘s conservatorship case.

If you didn’t know, the “#FreeBritney” movement developed on social media amid growing concern and speculation from fans regarding the pop star’s conservatorship under her father Jamie Spears, which has been instated since 2008.

“She’s always wanted to get out of [the conservatorship],” he said on the podcast.

“It’s very frustrating to have. Whether someone’s coming in peace to help or coming in with an attitude, having someone constantly tell you to do something has got to be frustrating.”

He also said the two “speak constantly,” but he doesn’t use social media regularly, and doesn’t fully understand the #FreeBritney movement.

“I don’t quite know what their meaning is. I don’t follow it that well. But I am aware that they feel like it’s, maybe she’s being confined or held against her will in some capacity, but I can’t really speak for them,” adding that the conservatorship has “been a great thing for our family, to this point, and [we] keep hoping for the best.”

He added that he did not believe there was any merit to the concern.

“She’s been in this thing for quite some time now. Obviously there was a need for it at the beginning that I assume everyone knows the issues that were going on, and now they’ve made some changes and all we can kinda do is hope for the best,” he said.

“They have 100% say,” he confirmed of the conservatorship.

“In the beginning, it was hard…what I think kind of got us all through it, all of us have been pretty close all these years. I mean, normal fights, normal ‘alright, I’m mad at you for a week’ family stuff, but nothing ever major where everyone quits speaking…we haven’t ever had that. I think we kind of came together, and not everybody agreed with it either, everyone had their own opinion…but in the end, I think we made the right choice. How it proceeds from here? I don’t know,” he said, adding that at the time, it was the right choice.

“In general, I think he’s the done the best he could given the situation he was put in. We’ve had to work together as a family to keep it all going,” he went on to say of his father Jamie‘s role in the conservatorship.

“She’s been surrounded by people since she was 15, so at what level does everyone just walk away or get reduced? I know what she wants, but…at the end of the day, what is the reality of that? The practicality. So are you going to call and make reservations for yourself today?” he explained.

“I think in general, just as personal development…I don’t know this, but if you’re coming into life and never had to do something and having to learn it…I’m sure it’s going to be an adjustment. Let’s say [the conservatorship] does get let go, and she’s going around, everyday task stuff, I think it’s probably going to be…it’s a great challenge, like driving, she’s the worst driver in the world. I’m not lying. Bless her heart. She really is not a very good driver. And she hasn’t had to do that.”

He added that “every single female in the family” has an opinion, but the family all “somewhat agrees.”

Here’s what her sister Jamie Lynn Spears said about mental health speculation and being told to speak out about the movement.

At the same time, if you didn’t know, there is a viral #FreeBritney movement on social media, as many fans are concerned about Britney‘s well-being under a conservatorship managed by her father Jamie Spears since 2008.

“How about your sister’s OBVIOUS mental illness? Why don’t you speak on that?” a person wrote.

“You have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters. She is a strong, badass, unstoppable woman, and that’s the only thing that is OBVIOUS,” Jamie Lynn hit back.

“You guys (the family) need to speak out and clarify all these assumptions. I love you, but around this sensitive situation some clarification is needed for both sides. People need to understand, not assume,” another fan wrote.

“I would never speak out just to clarify things to the public, when the person it pertains to does not want it to happen. I’d rather take all the hate, then speak about someone else’s personal matter, that they want to be kept private,” she responded.

Another fan expressed that “some of us are spimply [sp] interested in what is going on because…we care,” to which she said: “I really appreciate you reaching out in such a respectful way. Your love and support is very much appreciated from me and my family.”

Lynne Spears recently filed this paperwork to get involved in Britney‘s conservatorship.

Taryn Manning Expresses Concern for Britney Spears, But Doesn't Necessarily Agree with 'Free Britney' Movement

Taryn Manning is reminiscing on working with Britney Spears and she has thoughts on the #FreeBritney movement.

The two stars worked together on the 2002 movie Crossroads and Taryn shared a still from the film on Instagram. She said, “Such a wonderful time with this crew! #retro #crossroads.”

Britney‘s fans have been preaching “Free Britney” for years now as they believe she should be released from the conservatorship that is controlled by her dad Jamie Spears and her team. Taryn addressed this in her post.

Britney I know you’re strong af and have your own brain and thought process. To me you look happy and like you’re having a blast! Keep up the happy posts and your faith in Jesus Christ,” Taryn said.

She added, “How about instead of #freebritney we say #GodIsWatchingOverBritney. How about let’s give this wonderful woman the dignity she deserves and earned ✝️ Until you know the facts stop speculating and perpetuating the father of lies. We all know she’s under a type of control that’s unfair and things will be fixed. Have faith. Wish her well! Send good vibes of no fear! Please!”
