Star Wars' Harrison Ford Becomes the Highest-Grossing Actor in U.S. Box-Office History

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been breaking box office records since it’s release last month and now the film’s actors are breaking records too!

Harrison Ford has officially become highest-grossing actor in U.S. box-office history.

The actor’s 41 films have grossed $4.699 billion at the domestic box office and The Force Awakens accounts for $764.4 million of that figure, according to Box Office Mojo.

The old record belonged to Samuel L. Jackson, whose films have grossed $4.626 billion. With both stars lined up to appear in several major movies over the next few years, it’s likely that they’ll jockey for the position.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has done the unthinkable… it has shattered the all time domestic box office record set by Avatar to become North America’s top grossing movie ever. Now, let’s take a look at some more records the movie has broken!

The movie broke the record on Wednesday afternoon (January 6) in just 20 days of release. The movie has now grossed over $760.5 million, which was what Avatar made in its full run plus its re-release.

The Force Awakens, which stars a hot young cast alongside vets like Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, has broken a ton of other records as well, like biggest opening weekend ever, biggest opening day, and fastest to reach $100 million.

There’s no stopping Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which has made over $1.5 billion worldwide since its December 16 global debut. The movie still hasn’t opened in China, the second biggest movie market in the world.

Harrison Ford Looks So Hot in This Shirtless Throwback Photo!

Harrison Ford is wowing audiences on screen right now in the blockbuster movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but years ago he was a hot young carpenter.

The now 73-year-old actor is seen posing shirtless in a throwback photo that was posted to Facebook by Brazilian musician Sergio Mendes.

“Before Han Solo, there was a great carpenter named Harrison Ford. And here he is, with his crew, the day he finished building my recording studio back in 1970…Thank you Harrison…may the force be with you…” Sergio captioned the photo, which you can see below.

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Cast Salaries Revealed

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is making history with the amount of money the film is grossing at the box office and it looks like the salaries for the cast members were well spent!

Harrison Ford by far made more money than anyone else in the cast with a reported salary of anywhere between $10 million and $20 million, according to Variety.

The other returning cast members, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, earned in the low-seven-figure range.

John Boyega and Daisy Ridley, who are both newcomers to the cast and the film world in general, were paid between $100-300k.

Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac, who are both well established actors at this point, earned in the mid-to-high-six figures.

All of the deals are expected to be renegotiated for the upcoming sequels!

Harrison Ford Arrives Back in LA After 'Star Wars' UK Premiere

Harrison Ford tries to go incognito in sunglasses and a baseball cap as he arrives at LAX airport on Friday evening (December 18) in Los Angeles.

The 73-year-old actor was greeted by tons of fans as he arrived at the airport and stopped to say hi to some lucky admirers.

While in England, Harrison sat down with BBC and talked about being blunt with his feelings about the film with both George Lucas and new director J.J. Abrams.

“I would [be blunt] and I am. I’m just rude,” Harrison joked.

Harrison Ford Wanted Han Solo to Die in 'Return of the Jedi'

Harrison Ford steps out of Nobu after having dinner on Thursday night (December 17) in London, England.

The 73-year-old legendary actor is in town after the red carpet premiere of his movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens the other night.

In a taped interview that aired on Conan that same night, Harrison talked about why he wanted his character Han Solo to die at the end of Return of the Jedi.

“I thought the best utility of the character would be for him to sacrifice himself to a high ideal,” Harrison said. “And give a little bottom, a little gravitas to the enterprise. Not that there wasn’t some already, but I just wanted in on that part of it.”

Harrison Ford Has a Message for Trolls Spoiling 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' (Video)

Harrison Ford did an interview with Buzzfeed UK on Thursday (December 17) when he was informed that trolls were already spoiling Star Wars: The Force Awakens for fans.

The 73-year-old actor couldn’t believe anyone would do that, so he recorded a message for the haters: “Stop that. Don’t do that. Please don’t do that. Don’t do that!”

Harrison then added, “Talk about it later. Please. Don’t tell people what happens before they go into the theatre.”
