Jessica Chastain Donates Money to Woman Who Criticized Her Feminist Views

Jessica Chastain is proving why she is one of our favorite people in Hollywood!

The Oscar-nominated actress has been very vocal about her feminist views in recent years and has done some great activism work as well. On International Women’s Day, she posted an Instagram photo of herself where a “We Should Be Feminists” shirt and captioned it, “FEMINISM: the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes.”

A woman named Karin Schulz responded to the post and criticized Jessica for being pro-choice and calling herself a feminist. “Yes feminist that believe in God and stand up for The Unborn. I would be for that kind of feminist,” she wrote.

Jessica responded to the comment and said, “Yes you can decide what is right for you. I am pro-choice and I believe that everyone has the right to make their own decision. I read about your journey to become a mother and it broke my heart. I hope that your dream will come true in 2018! Much love to you.”

And that incredibly kind comment wasn’t all. Jessica went on Karin‘s GoFundMe page and donated $2,000 to help the woman pay for infertility treatments not covered by her insurance company.

Jessica Chastain Cut From Xavier Dolan's 'The Death & Life of John F. Donovan'

Director Xavier Dolan has announced that he has cut Jessica Chastain out of his upcoming film, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.

“What you need to hear from me is that Jessica Chastain‘s character, after what was a long period of reflection, had to be cut from the film. It was an extremely difficult decision to make. I feel, toward Jessica, a very sincere love, and a great admiration. The decision was editorial and narrative, in that it has nothing to do with a performance, and everything to do with a character, and the compatibility of its storyline,” the 28-year-old director explained on Instagram. “This ‘villain’ subplot, albeit funny and entertaining, didn’t feel like it belonged to the rest of the story, which ended up not being on heroes or their nemesis, bur [sic] rather on childhood, and its dreams.”

Xavier continued, “Jessica has, since the very beginning, defended this project, and defended me on so many occasions. She is a terrific actress, a politically engaged artist, what is more, who relentlessly champions the causes she believes in. She is respected by her peers, and beloved by her public.”

Jessica was supposed to play a tabloid editor in the film also starring Kit Harington, Natalie Portman, Bella Thorne, Susan Sarandon, Thandie Newton, and more.

Jessica Chastain Notices Error in Her Tweet: 'Now I Look Like a Pervert'

Oops! An error in one of Jessica Chastain‘s tweets has caused the emoji she used to be changed to a totally different one, which she thinks now makes her look like a pervert!

The two-time Oscar nominee posted about how she related to Greta Gerwig‘s movie Lady Bird and that she lost her virginity to the Dave Matthews song “Crash.” She added the shocked emoji, but some people are seeing the drooling emoji instead.

“Is this a Samsung thing?! The shocked emoji is what I put in my tweet and is what I see when I go on my twitter. A friend forwarded me an article that referred to it. The emoji is completely different! Is that what all of you see? Its drooling. Now I look like a pervert…” Jessica tweeted after she noticed the error.

Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson replied, “Hahaha! Omg. Why does this make me laugh so hard?” Jessica replied, “So embarrassing…”

Director Xavier Dolan said, “I love both versions,” and Jessica responded, “Hahaha you would.”

Chrissy Teigen added, “I have never found such joy in something so simple. it is so funny to me.”
