Jessica Chastain Discloses Information About 'Interstellar' & Can't Stop Gushing About It: 'It's Great'

Jessica Chastain and her pup Chaplin make their way through LAX Airport to catch a flight out of town on Sunday (October 12) in Los Angeles.

The Oscar nominated actress recently dished on lots of details from Interstellar.

“I’ll tell you about my character. I play a woman who is like a scientist. She’s super super smart and scientific and she’s not whole at the beginning when we see here. There’s an emotional part missing that we then wonder, ‘Does she become completed by the end? Is there that journey?’ I would say yes,” Jes told E! News about Interstellar. “It’s definitely a love story, definitely a love story. As much as the film is about outer space and like the most incredible action, adventure, epic, epic film, it’s so much about love.”

“Trust me, there’s no way to over hype this film. I never talked like this about a film, but when I saw it I was like I don’t know what to do. It’s great,” Jes added – we can’t wait! Interstellar hits theaters on November 5.

Jessica Chastain Clarifies 'Glamour' Quotes About Female Roles

Jessica Chastain has taken to social media to clarify some words featured in her Glamour magazine cover article.

The Oscar-nominated actress’s quotes were summed up in a headline by Page Six that reads, “Jessica Chastain: Give anyone but Meryl Streep a chance.”

Page Six gets it terribly wrong. The headline is upsetting and against my thinking,” Jessica wrote on her WhoSay account. “I would never want to take roles away from a great actress. My point has always been: Why can only one great actress of a certain age get roles in film? We need MORE roles in film for the many OTHER great actresses. It speaks to the lack of diversity in our industry.”

Jessica Chastain Wants to Know Why Viola Davis, Jessica Lange, & Susan Sarandon Aren't Offered Leading Roles

Jessica Chastain looks as gorgeous as ever on the cover of Glamour magazine’s November 2014 issue, on newsstands October 14.

Here’s what the Oscar nominated actress had to share with the mag:

On supporting women in Hollywood: “I’m really, really supportive of women in Hollywood. I love Meryl Streep. She’s such an incredible actress. But I feel like she’s the only one in her age group who gets those parts. I’d like to see Jessica Lange in a movie again, you know? Or Susan Sarandon. Why isn’t Viola Davis a lead in a film? She’s one of the greatest actresses alive. And where are the Asian actors and actresses? I’m not saying, ‘We don’t want movies about men.’ I’m just saying, ‘Come on, all the men I know love women. So let’s also have some stories about these women. Let’s write something for them, guys—and let’s make room for women writers too.’”

On keeping her love life private: “I think it’s important not to talk about it. In the future I will. If everything continues on a path, of course it’ll be part of the conversation. But until it gets there, I don’t want to put any unexpected pressure on something that is so personal and so precious. It’s too delicate right now.”

On overcoming bullying: “[As a child] I was told every day at school that I was ugly. And that no one wanted to be my friend. The most cruel things…. If I can do anything to help young girls and to be a cheerleader for people who sometimes have low self-esteem, I want to do that.”

On become famous after her teenage years: “I would have been a disaster. If I was 19 and I had the attention that I’m getting now, I would have just said stupid things. I would have partied more. All these expensive dinners and people giving me champagne? All these stupid things that we criticize 19-year-olds for doing when they’re famous, I would have done.”

Jessica Chastain Talks Aspirations to Do a Comedy One Day

Jessica Chastain looks incredibly sexy in a Lanvin dress on the cover of Interview magazine‘s November 2014 issue.

Here is what the Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby actress had to share with interviewer Mindy Kaling:

On aspirations to do a comedy: “It’s a strange thing. When I was in college [at Juilliard], I was cast in a lot of comedies. I played Smeraldina in The King Stag and had crazy hair and a unibrow. I loved it. I loved the comedic aspects of Celia Foote in The Help. With any kind of acting, you’re basically living the emotion that you’re going to work in every day, so sometimes I’m like, “I am so tired of crying, how great would it be to experience joy and laughter every day?” I am actively looking for a comedic role in something.”

On being prepared as an actor: “I probably learned it at Juilliard. There was a class we had all about what you do before you show up. Yes, you memorize the lines, but I never think of how I’m going to deliver the lines. I just try to fill myself up with as much history of the character as I can.”

On interviews that didn’t characterize her correctly: “There was an article that completely misquoted me, or re-edited what I said, to make their own conclusions. One time I was characterized as having this crippling fear, which is insane. I thrive on fear. Fear actually propels me forward. I am an emotional person. I’m an awkward girl. I get a little shy, and I get nervous a lot. But every time I think I can’t do something, I actually want to do it. I’m very in touch with my emotions, but I’m not a crybaby.”

Jessica Chastain Says She Feels Depressed When Not Working

Jessica Chastain looks stunning while posing for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK‘s November 2014 issue.

Here is what the Oscar-nominated actress had to share with the mag:

On feeling grief from not working: “I started to feel really negative about myself, down on who I am, and then I realized it’s because I’ve had so much time away from me that I don’t really know what I like to do anymore. I’m out of it now, but there was this feeling of being sad or depressed… wanting to go to another project… Perhaps it is like [an addiction]… maybe the [past] three months were my withdrawal!”

On hating being the center of attention: “Probably there are some people who feel great about themselves and don’t second-guess anything they say or do or wear… But that’s just not me.”

On not having a plan for a different career: “I don’t know what I’d do if I wasn’t acting. It doesn’t mean I have to be in movies or have success… I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have this form of expression because it offers me a freedom I don’t have in my personal life.”
