“If Johnny wishes to change the settlement agreement, we must insist that he honor the full amount by donating $14M to charity, which after accounting for his tax deduction, is equal to his $7M payment obligation to Amber,” Amber‘s reps said. “We would also insist that the full amount be paid immediately and not drawn out over many years. Anything less would be a transparent attempt by Johnny’s counsel, Laura Wasser and Patti Glaser, to reduce their client’s true payment by half under the guise of newfound concern for charities that he has never previously supported.”

Johnny Depp Fulfills Amber Heard's Charity Pledge, Writes Checks to ACLU & Children's Hospital (Statement)
Johnny Depp has personally sent checks to the ACLU and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles on behalf of his ex Amber Heard, as part of her pledge to donate all $7 million from their divorce settlement, his rep confirmed to Just Jared.
“Following Amber Heard’s announcement that her divorce settlement was to be divided equally and gifted to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union, two exceptionally deserving and important charities, Johnny Depp has sent the first of multiple installments of those monies to each charity in the name of Amber Heard, which when completed will honor the full amount of Ms. Heard’s pledge,” Johnny‘s rep told TMZ. Johnny is planning to send multiple checks, eventually amounting to the full $7 million ($3.5 million to each organization).
“Ms. Heard’s generosity in giving to these wonderful causes is deeply respected,” Johnny‘s rep continued.
After the divorce case was settled, the lawyers said that Amber had been “vindicated in the Public Court of Opinion.”
They later updated with a new statement.
“The statement made today on behalf of myself and Joseph Koenig was made without the knowledge or approval of Amber Heard. The statement is untrue and we retract it, without qualification. My assertion that Amber Heard has been vindicated in the court of public opinion is not true. We regret the error and apologize to Johnny Depp,” the lawyers told ABC News.
The 30-year-old actress has also dismissed her domestic violence restraining order petition due to the case being settled. The pair withdrew legal documents on Tuesday (August 16) for the domestic violence case, which was tied into the divorce case.
Johnny is reportedly paying Amber $7 million plus her legal fees.
“Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains. There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity,” a joint statement read.
TMZ was first to report the news.
Johnny Depp reportedly accused Amber and Billy Bob of cheating when they worked on London Fields together. Johnny reportedly ended up cutting off his fingertip in a rage over his belief that Amber was cheating with Billy Bob.
Billy Bob told TMZ the allegations are “completely false.” Billy Bob added that he never spent time with Amber off the set besides for a cast dinner. Their relationship was strictly professional and they didn’t socialize.
Billy Bob married wife Connie Angland back in 2014, and assured her the story was false.
The 53-year-old actor and Amber, 30, were in Australia last March when he became irate and started smashing bottles and windows, and ended up cutting off part of his forefinger. The argument began because Johnny thought Amber was cheating with Billy Bob Thornton.
After cutting his finger, Johnny dipped his finger in paint, and wrote “Billy Bob,” and “Easy Amber” on a mirror. Amber and Billy Bob starred in London Fields together, and Johnny was also convinced Amber cheated with other men.
Johnny didn’t seek medical attention immediately, so doctors used a flap from his hand to reconstruct the finger. Amber is using this finger story in her defense against him in the divorce case.
There’s a very disturbing photo of Johnny‘s cut finger on TMZ.
Amber Heard is greeted by her legal team while arriving late for her deposition on Saturday (August 6) in Century City, Calif.
The 30-year-old actress was required to show up at 10:00am after putting the deposition off several times. By 11:00am, Amber still had not appeared at the building, according to TMZ. If she didn’t show up for the deposition, Johnny‘s lawyers had the option of requesting a contempt citation.
Amber ended up arriving for the deposition at 11:30am, one and a half hours late.
FYI: Amber is wearing KREWE du optic sunglasses.
