Viola Davis is responding to the accusations that her movie The Woman King is not historically accurate.

The Oscar-winning actress and her husband Julius Tennon, who produced the movie with Viola, are opening up in response to people boycotting the movie because it didn’t address the Dahomey Kingdom’s involvement in slavery.

Viola and Julius also stepped out for a photo call for the film on Monday (September 19) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 57-year-old Oscar-winning actress and her husband Julius Tennon spent the afternoon sightseeing on Sunday (September 18) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Viola looked cool in teal outfit as she stopped and chatted with fans as she strolled around the city.

Viola is currently in Brazil to promote her new movie The Woman King, which is out in theaters in the United States now. You can check out the trailer here.

Viola Davis is stepping out for a special screening of her new movie!

The 57-year-old Oscar-winning actress was joined by husband Julius Tennon at the premiere of her new movie The Woman King on Thursday evening (September 15) held at The National Museum Of African American History And Culture in Washington, DC.

For the screening, Viola donned a black velvet dress with abright yellow necklace.

Also joining Viola at the screening was her co-star Sheila Atim along with director Gina Prince-Bythewood.

Viola Davis stuns in a bright pink dress at the premiere of her new movie, The Woman King, during the 2022 Toronto Film Festival at Roy Thomson Hall on Friday (September 9) in Toronto, Canada.

The 57-year-old actress joined her costars John Boyega, Lashana Lynch, Sheila Atim, Makgotso M, Thuso Mbedu, Sivuyile Ngesi, Masali Baduza, Siyamthanda Makakane, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin, as well as director Gina Prince-Bythewood at the red carpet event.

Just a few hours earlier, the cast were seen at a Twitter Q&A panel in support of the movie.

Ahead of the screening of the movie, Viola gave an impassioned speech about it, calling it her “magnum opus”.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are teaming up again for a new movie that Ben is going to direct and the star-studded supporting cast was just announced.

The untitled movie will tell “the incredible story of how maverick sneaker salesman Sonny Vaccaro (Damon) led a fledgling running shoe company called Nike in its pursuit of the most transformative athlete in the history of sports: Michael Jordan.”

Ben will co-star in the movie as Nike co-founder Phil Knight.

The Amazon Studios film just began production in Los Angeles and Deadline has announced the rest of the cast.

The 56-year-old Oscar-winning actress was honored during the 2022 Women in Motion Awards hosted by Kering held during the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 22) at Place de la Castre in Cannes, France.

Taking the stage to accept the award, Viola gave an empowering speech.

Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, and Jennifer Connelly gather up for a giant group photo at the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick during the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (May 18) in Cannes, France.

The trio were joined by a lot of their co-stars in the flick, including Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Jon Hamm, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, and Greg Tarzan Davis, along with director Joseph Kosinski, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie.

While on the red carpet Miles and his wife Keleigh Sperry, shared a couple of sweet kisses, before fighter jets flew over the carpet in tribute to the film.

Tom also received a surprise Palme d’Or award at the event.
