On why it took him so long to admit he wanted to act: “I always wanted to be an actor, but I just never told anyone. I had this superstition that if I said it out loud, it wouldn’t come true.”

On his favorite movie, Once Upon a Time in America: “Here I was growing up in a tiny village in Denmark. And I’m identifying 100 percent with this gangster from New York. And I think how amazing would it be to explore human behavior in that same way.”

On how he prepares to shoot a scene: “You have to be sharp when the camera’s rolling. I want to be totally unselfconscious, like a child playing. I do as much prep as possible so I can lose myself for those seconds.”

Emilia Clarke is all smiles while arriving at LAX Airport on Sunday (March 17) in Los Angeles.

The 25-year-old actress was joined by her Game of Thrones co-stars Kit Harington, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Rose Leslie, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Fairley, and Aiden Gillen.

The cast is on the west coast to promote the third season of their hit HBO series, which premieres on March 31 at 9/8c!

Emilia recently chatted with EW about her role in the Broadway play Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

“It’s not the movie, it’s not Audrey Hepburn, but it is [Truman] Capote’s words and Capote’s beautiful characters,” Emilia said. “I’ve just been trying to live out his words…the film sort of had to take a back seat. It’s very much an entirely different piece.”

“It’s probably my own lack of education,” the 42-year-old Game of Thrones actor shared about his reservations toward the fantasy genre. “But you know, it’s always good guy against bad guy, and there are those really tacky book covers.”
