Caitriona Balfe Hints There Could Be A Delay In Filming Start on 'Outlander' Season 6

Caitriona Balfe is opening up about what she’s been doing while in quarantine.

In her essay with Refinery29, the 40-year-old actress hinted that the start of filming for Outlander‘s season six could be delayed.

“I was due to start filming season 6 of Outlander, but due to the shutdown we have been postponed to an as yet unknown date,” she wrote.

As of the activities Caitriona has been doing, she says that “lots of closets have been organized, lots of shelves mounted… I now have a to-do list the length of my arm.”

“I found comfort in cooking, growing, and reading,” she added. “I’ve got the beginnings of quite an impressive herb garden (the mint seems to know of my previous reputation as a mint murderer and is not playing ball) and it’s been so nice watching things grow from seeds.”

Caitriona also shared that she is “putting on music and dancing around like a lunatic for at least three songs every day…you got to let the crazy out.”

If you missed it, Caitriona stood by co-star Sam Heughan when he revealed he’s been the subject of online bullying for years.

Caitriona Balfe Voices Support for Sam Heughan After He Speaks Out Against Bullies

Caitriona Balfe is speaking out in support of Sam Heughan after he released an open letter to fans in which he addressed the bullying he’s been subjected to for six years.

The Outlander actor said that people have been making up false stories about him for years, including right now amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Make sure to read the full open letter that Sam released.

“Sad that Sam has had to come out and say all this. I would have thought mean bitchy behaviour would have been left in the school yard. But unfortunately a VERY SMALL but very vocal part of this fandom use their energy to write and say awful untrue things … maybe they should harness all that energy to get involved in their local charities,” Caitriona wrote on Twitter in response to the story.

She added, “And honestly it’s quite simple … If you don’t like us .. it’s a big beautiful world out there. Find something you do love and enjoy that. Life as it’s all too clear right now is short. Why waste it hating.”

'Outlander' Author Criticizes Sex Scene From Latest Episode: 'Bad Dialogue, Bad Direction, Bad Lighting'

The latest episode of Outlander featured a sex scene between Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) that was not well received by some fans, as well as the author of the original books, Diana Gabaldon.

The scene was a love scene in a stable and the author responded to a fan who seemed unhappy with the scene.

Diana responded, “Bad dialogue, bad direction, bad lighting, awkward set. Actors did their level best with what they were given to work with.”

She also clarified, “I thought the acting was really good–and both the earlier leadup to and the reconciliation after were both very good; the dialogue leading up to the actual sex and the staging of said sex left something to be desired.”

Then, when fans wondered if Diana hated the entire episode, she clarified she did not, she just did not enjoy that one, 45-second scene!

“Would y’all pay attention? (not meaning just you personally) I was referring explicitly to one 45-second scene, NOT the episode,” she added.

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have amazing chemistry and they recently spoke about it!
