Raven-Symone Under Fire For Spring Valley Assault Comments: 'You Gotta Follow the Rules'

Raven-Symone is under fire again, this time for her comments on the violent assault against a Spring Valley High School student, which took place earlier this week.

“The girl was told multiple times to get off the phone,” the 29-year-old The View co-host said on After The View. “There’s not right or reason, for him to be doing this type of harm. That’s ridiculous. But at the same time, you gotta follow the rules in school. First of all, why are there cell phones in school? This shouldn’t even be a problem to begin with, and he shouldn’t have been acting like that on top of it.”

Raven has received a ton of backlash on Twitter and Facebook after her comments went viral.

If you have not heard about what happened, Spring Valley High School resource officer Ben Fields slammed a female African-American student on the ground and was seen dragging her in a disturbing viral video. The officer has been fired.

Raven-Symone & Girlfriend AzMarie Livingston Split After 3 Years Together

Raven-Symone and her girlfriend AzMarie Livingston have reportedly broken up, Us Weekly reports.

The 29-year-old The View co-host and the 28-year-old Empire actress and former America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion contestant began dating in 2012, but have kept very private.

“I want to be labeled a human who loves humans. I’m tired of being labeled,” Raven-Symone told Oprah on Where Are They Now? back in October 2014. “I’m in an amazing, happy relationship with my partner, a woman.”

No word on when the actual break up happened.

Raven Symone Clarifies Controversial 'Ghetto' Names Comments

Raven Symone is backtracking on her comments about discriminating against people who have “ghetto” names.

“My comments about discrimination have spun out of control. I’d like to begin by saying that I was not attacking a specific race, but repeating a name that was said in a viral video which has received over 2 million likes,” the 29-year-old The View co-host wrote on Facebook.

“I have been denied many jobs because of my skin color, body size, and age. Each time I was rejected, my self esteem was negatively effected, so I empathize with those who feel victimized by what I said,” Raven continued. “We would hope that when it comes to hiring, our names, physical appearance, sexual orientation, and age would never outweigh our qualifications, but often times, they do, thats the truth and it sucks. But I should not be part of the problem, I should be part of the solution.”
