Young Sheldon will be back soon!

The hit CBS show is a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory, centered around main character Sheldon Cooper and his family living in East Texas.

As of March of 2021, CBS renewed the series through to a seventh and final season. Season 6 of the show just wrapped in May of 2023.

The show will return for its seventh and final season on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET. And we know the stars likely to return on the cast, and one who may not!

Young Sheldon is one of CBS‘ biggest hit shows!

The coming-of-age TV series, set in the late ’80s and early ’90s, is a spin-off prequel of The Big Bang Theory.

The show follows Sheldon Cooper, portrayed by Jim Parsons in Big Bang Theory, growing up with his family in East Texas.

The show first premiered back in 2017, and was picked up for a full season that began airing weekly in November of that year. Sadly, the show is coming to an end, and the seventh and final season is scheduled to premiere on February 15, 2024. Find out who’s back on the show!

The cast of Young Sheldon gathers up on the red carpet for a major milestone celebration!

Iain Armitage, Lance Barber, Zoe Perry, Raegan Revord, Montana Jordan, Annie Potts, as well as Matt Hobby and Wyatt McClure stepped out for the premiere of the 100th episode of Young Sheldon in Burbank, Calif., on Friday (March 18).

Currently in its fifth season, Young Sheldon is a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, centering on the upbringing of Sheldon Cooper, played by Iain.

Here’s a full summary: As he struggles to be understood by his family, classmates and neighbors, Sheldon’s mother arms him with the best tool she can come up with: reminding bullies his dad is the football coach and his brother is on the team. His twin sister doesn’t share his exceptional mind, but she has a much clearer vision of what life has in store for the young genius.

Young Sheldon has been given a massive three season renewal, locking the show in for seasons five, six, and seven on CBS.

“Under Chuck Lorre’s and Steve Molaro’s deft leadership, this superb cast and gifted writers have truly brought these wonderful characters to life,” CBS president Kelly Kahl said in a statement (via TV Line). “Young Sheldon dominates the broadcast comedy landscape by over 2.5 million viewers and is the lynchpin of CBS’ top-rated Thursday comedy lineup. The humor, warmth and heart exuded by the Cooper family is an undeniable hook for the millions of fans who tune in each week. We’re excited to see what the next three seasons have in store for a slightly older Sheldon and all the Coopers.”

The series, a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory starring Iain Armitage as the younger version of Jim Parsons‘ character Sheldon Cooper, is now guaranteed to be on the air through 2024.

Exciting news for Young Sheldon fans!

The CBS series has officially been picked up for two more seasons, the network announced on Friday (February 22).

The single-camera comedy – a prequel to The Big Bang Theory – follows 10-year-old child genius Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) as he tries to fit in with his family and classmates in East Texas.

The show also stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts. Jim Parsons, aka adult Sheldon on Big Bang Theory, serves as the narrator.

Young Sheldon is the second most-watched comedy behind Big Bang, Variety reports.

Big Bang, meanwhile, will air its series finale this spring after 12 seasons.

“The Coopers are portrayed by an amazing cast, and we are looking forward to having the gifted writing staff mine even more of Sheldon’s hilarious backstory and the warm family dynamic that has made this comedy a favorite with audiences for the past two seasons,” said Thom Sherman, senior executive vice president of programming for CBS Entertainment.

Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco hit the blue carpet as they arrive at the 2018 Paleyfest on Wednesday night (March 21) at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles.

The Big Bang Theory stars were joined at the event by their fellow co-stars Johnny Galecki and Kunal Nayyar as they stepped out to promote their hit show.

Laurie Metcalf and Allison Janney walk the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
