Brit Marling shows off her toned tummy for a feature in Glamour‘s May 2013 issue, on newsstands now.

Here is what the 29-year-old The East actress had to share with the mag:

On traveling the country without cash to “live free” for new film: “We wanted to have a summer adventure. We learned to train-hop and Dumpster dive, which sounds gross, but I actually made restaurant worthy vegan meals out of food from a Dumpster. My whole perspective on the world shifted, and I came back wanting to tell stories about the experience.”

On the story behind her name: “I was originally going to be named Borganny�”what were my parents thinking?!Thankfully, they named me after my great-grandmother instead. When I was young, I thought Brit sounded kind of boyish. So I’d tell people to call me Franny. I guess it was an early attempt at acting. Now I love my name. It just took me a little while.”

Brit Marling glams up while attending the premiere of her new flick The Company You Keep held at the MoMA on Monday (April 1) in New York City.

The 29-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Shia LaBeouf, Robert Redford, Jackie Evancho, and Stanley Tucci, who brought his wife Felicity Blunt.

Earlier in the day, Brit, Jackie, Stanley, and Robert promoted the flick at a press conference in the Big Apple.

Mark your calendars, The Company You Keep hits theaters on Friday (April 5). We can’t wait!

Shia LaBeouf suits up while attending the premiere of his new flick The Company You Keep held at the MoMA on Monday (April 1) in New York City.

The 26-year-old actor was joined by his co-stars Robert Redford and Brit Marling, who he was seen hugging on the red carpet.

Earlier in the day, Shia was spotted wearing his foot cast while heading to his taping on Late Show With David Letterman to promote the film in the Big Apple.

Eddie Redmayne and Brit Marling heat up the cover of W Magazine‘s April 2013 issue.

Here is what the 31-year-old Les Miserables actor and the 29-year-old The East actress, who are featured alongside Middle of Nowhere‘s Emayatzy Corinealdi, had to share with the mag:

Eddie on playing Angelina Jolie‘s son in The Good Shepherd: “I doubt it was my acting – I have my big lips to thank for getting cast.”

Eddie on playing Viola in an all male production of Twelfth Night during college: “I was a boy playing a girl playing a boy. I had to wear a whalebone corset. To this day, when actresses on set start whining to me about the pain of their corsets, I say, ‘I’ve been there. It’s not that bad.’”

Brit on her views of Hollywood: “People think Hollywood is anti-academic. But it doesn’t have to be. For The East, Zal and I spent a lot of time on the road, meeting anarchist groups and different kinds of self-organized communities. When I write or act, I always try to make sure that I’m not using fantasy to avoid doing homework. To come up with a genuine insight based on something real is not easy.”

Emayatzy on starring in festival hit Middle of Nowhere: “It was the opportunity I was waiting for. When I auditioned, I thought, ‘This is the reason I drove here 10 years ago.’”

Ellen Page, Brit Marling, and Alexander Skarsgard attend the premiere of their film The East during the 2013 SXSW Film Festival on Saturday (March 16) at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Tex.

The castmates, who were joined by director Zal Batmanglij, also attended a portrait session before the big premiere.

The East, about an operative (Marling) for an elite private intelligence firm who finds her priorities irrevocably changed after she is tasked with infiltrating an anarchist group known for executing covert attacks upon major corporations, hits theaters on May 31.

FYI: Brit is wearing a Stella McCartney jumpsuit and Rupert Sanderson shoes. Ellen is wearing a Rag and Bone top and Armani pants.

Alexander Skarsgard and Brit Marling hit the red carpet at the premiere of their film The East held during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival at the Eccles Center Theatre on Sunday (January 20) in Park City, Utah.

The 36-year-old actor was also joined by co-stars Ellen Page, Toby Kebbell, and Aldis Hodge, as well as director Zal Batmanglij.

Brit and Zal, who have worked together in the past, co-wrote the film together! The story centers on contract worker (Marling) who is tasked with infiltrating an anarchist group, only to find herself falling for its leader.

Earlier in the day, the cast attended a portrait session.
