Cher is stealing the show in the latest trailer for Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!

An extended look at the upcoming Mamma Mia sequel aired during the 2018 Grammys on Sunday (January 29).

Cher plays Sophie’s (Amanda Seyfried) grandmother in the movie. In this sequel, Sophie learns about her mother’s past while pregnant.

Cher is briefly seen singing “Fernando” in the tease for the movie.

“Let’s get the party started,” she says in the trailer.

'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' Trailer: Sophie is Pregnant, Donna is Dead(?!), Cher is Grandma!

The trailer for the upcoming movie musical Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again has arrived and it reveals some shocking plot developments!

As the trailer starts, we find out that Amanda Seyfried‘s character Sophie is pregnant and that Meryl Streep‘s character Donna has seemingly died.

Sophie welcomes her aunties Tonya (Christine Baranski) and Rosie (Julie Walters) to help her prepare for the baby and they tell her about what Donna was like as a young woman. Enter, Lily James as young Donna!

Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgard, and Colin Firth return to play Sophie’s three possible dads: Sam, Bill and Harry. Dominic Cooper is also back as Sky!

Joining the cast are Cher as Sophie’s grandma, Alexa Davies as young Rosie, Jessica Keenan Wynn as young Tonya, Jeremy Irvine as young Sam, Josh Dylan as young Bill, and Hugh Skinner as young Harry.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again hits theaters on July 20, 2018.

Meryl Streep Tells Story of Fighting Off an Abuser with Cher

Meryl Streep is opening up about her own experiences with physical violence and how she sprung into action to fight off an abuser.

The three-time Oscar-winning actress detailed her personal experiences while speaking at an event for the Committee to Protect Journalists earlier in the week.

Meryl says that for one of the instances, her friend Cher was present.

“I learned something about life that I wouldn’t have known otherwise and I was lucky because my instincts served me well,” she said (via People). “In one instance, I played dead and waited until the blows stopped – watching like people say you do from about 50 feet above from where I was beaten. And in the second instance, someone else was being abused and I just went completely nuts and went after this man. Ask Cher – she was there. And the thug ran away, it was a miracle.”

Cher Signs on to Join Cast of 'Mamma Mia!' Sequel

Cher has officially signed on to join the cast of the Mamma Mia sequel Here We Go Again!

The 71-year-old legendary entertainer has been hinting that she’d appear in the upcoming film and the news has been confirmed by Variety.

Cher joins a cast that already includes Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried, and Lily James.

The film is set to jump back and forth in time, showing how relationships forged in the past resonate in the present. It began shooting in September in the U.K. and Croatia.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! is set to hit theaters on July 20, 2018.

Cher Musical Heading to Broadway Next Year!

A musical dedicated to Cher is coming to Broadway!

The Cher Show, based on the life and six-decade career of the icon, will open at the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway in the Fall of 2018.

“My life as a musical on Broadway. It seems crazy, exciting and bizarre – but that’s probably how my life seems to most people,” Cher said in reaction to the amazing news.

Ahead of the show’s Broadway opening, it will head to Chicago and play several weeks starting on June 12, 2018 at the Oriental Theatre.

The musical features a book by Rick Elice, direction by Jason Moore, choreography by Christopher Gattelli, and orchestrations, arrangements and musical supervision by Daryl Waters.

The longtime friends worked together in the Ocean’s movies and last year’s Money Monster. They spoke together during the telethon to help raise money for people affected by Harvey and Irma.

Cher's Music & Life Story to Become a Broadway Musical!

Cher has announced that a Broadway musical based on her life will be coming to the stage in 2018!

The 71-year-old legendary entertainer, who recently gave an amazing performance in a barely there outfit for her Icon Award honor at the Billboard Music Awards, revealed the news on Twitter.

“Just got off phone w/Writer & Director of musical. There will be performance in theatre with actors, dancers, singer It’ll be on Broadway 2018,” she said.

Cher previously teased the musical in January after attending a secret reading of it. “I sobbed & laughed, & I was prepared not 2like it. Audience clapped after songs, & gave it standing ovation,” she said at the time.

Avenue Q and Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore is helming the show with a book by Jersey Boys writer Rick Elice.
