For modern musicians, touring around the globe is one of the biggest, most lucrative sources of income. Massive world tours really bring in the big bucks!

From bands like U2 and The Rolling Stones to solo acts like Ed Sheeran and Elton John, plenty of musical acts have shattered records with their global treks and massive stage productions.

Coldplay is getting right back on the road!

Following their record-breaking run around the world in 2022, the band announced a return to the U.S. and Canada with a special west coast run of the Music of the Spheres World Tour in 2023.

The troupe will be hitting tour stops in cities like Seattle, Vancouver, San Diego and Los Angeles this September, performing their smash hits in stadiums.

H.E.R and 070 Shake will be supporting on this leg of the tour.

Tickets will go on sale starting Friday (January 27) at 10 a.m. PT on Ticketmaster.com.

Coldplay will offer an exclusive first come, first serve presale to past purchasers of their previously scheduled 2022 dates in Los Angeles. Fans will receive their presale information via email, and the presale will take place on Thursday (January 26) at 10 a.m. PT to 10 p.m. local time.

The list of the Top 30 highest-grossing concert tours of the year has been released!

Pollstar has dropped the touring data for the year and all of the concerts this year grossed $6.28 billion collectively, which is a new record.

One of the drivers in increasing tour revenue was the move from arena tours to stadium tours in 2022, with artists from all genres playing the biggest venues in the country.

Shockingly and sadly, only two women are in the Top 30 and you’re probably going to be surprised by some of the names on this list.

The data is just for North American shows instead of worldwide shows. We have some interesting info, including the average gross per show for each tour and the amount of tickets each artist sold.

Pop band BTS’ member Jin will appear as a special guest at Coldplay’s world tour in Buenos Aires to perform “The Astronaut” together on October 28.

The performance will also be broadcast live in over 3,500 theaters across more than 75 countries/regions. The live performance of “The Astronaut” will also be available to watch on BTS’ official YouTube channel after the concert concludes.

Coldplay has cancelled several scheduled shows after Chris Martin fell ill.

The group responsible for hits such as “Yellow” and “Fix You” confirmed the news in a statement shared on social media. The cancelled shows were supposed to take place in Brazil.

“With deep regret, we’ve been forced to postpone our upcoming shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo until early 2023,” the band wrote. “Due to a serious lung infection, Chris has been put under strict doctor’s orders to rest for the next three weeks. We’re working as fast as possible to lock in the new dates and will follow up with more information in the next few days.”

Coldplay has a new music video out!

The Chris Martin-led band released the music video for their latest single “Humankind” on Wednesday (August 17).

The new music video, directed by Stevie Rae Gibbs and James Marcus Haney, is based on footage from Coldplay’s four sold out shows at Mexico City’s Foro Sol Stadium from earlier this year.
