Dan Stevens and Aubrey Plaza have just been announced as leads in the new FX pilot Legion, which is being produced by Marvel and has X-Men ties.
Here’s a synopsis, direct from Marvel: Since he was a teenager, David Haller has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.
Dan will play David, Aubrey will play his friend Lenny, and Jean Smart will play a therapist named Melanie.
In the Marvel comics, David turns out to be the son of X-Men‘s Charles Xavier, aka Professor X. David first appeared in New Mutants #25 in March 1985.
