Iggy Azalea Responds to Halsey Calling Her a 'F--king Moron'

Iggy Azalea is speaking out in response to Halsey‘s comments in which the singer called her a “f–king moron.”

Halsey was asked about artists she collaborated with on her latest album and she talked about people she wouldn’t collaborate with. She brought up Iggy and mentioned how she disregarded black culture.

“Yeah, it’s a bit weird to bring someone up in an interview that you weren’t asked about. It’s kind of like if we were talking right now and I just randomly started talking about Janet Jackson or something,” Iggy said on Australian radio show Smallzy’s Surgery. “To me, because I’m a famous person and I know a lot of the time people have opinions and they’re not always accurate, I really try very hard not to give my personal opinions about people that I don’t know. I don’t know her, I’ve never met her.”

“I thought it was a bit of a strange thing to throw that out there,” Iggy added. “She’s young and I hope she learns maybe to be a bit less judgmental when she’s kind of in the same shoes. I’m sure she’s getting judged all the time as well by people who don’t really know her. Maybe it’d be good for her to try to be a little more empathetic to other people that are in the same situation.”

Iggy also reportedly said, “I think she got asked a question and she felt uncomfortable with, for whatever reason she brought me up and felt like that was a good deflection. I don’t think it worked… I don’t really think I had anything to do with it. It was a weird thing to bring me in to it.”

Halsey Calls Iggy Azalea a 'F--king Moron' in New Interview

Halsey clearly is not a fan of Iggy Azalea and she slammed the rapper in a new interview.

The 22-year-old “Now or Never” singer was opening up about featured artists on her album and how there are people she would never collaborate with.

“There’s a lot of people I wouldn’t put on my record,” Halsey told The Guardian. “Iggy Azalea: absolutely not. She had a complete disregard for black culture. F–king moron. I watched her career dissolve and it fascinated me.”

Halsey reportedly defended her comments in a tweet that was since deleted. “I don’t regret saying Iggy has a disregard for black culture,” she allegedly said.

During the interview, Halsey defended rapper Quavo, who has made homophobic comments in the past. She took to Twitter to apologize to her fans for what she said and claimed that she didn’t know about the comments before working with him.

Halsey & Lauren Jauregui 'Strangers' Stream, Lyrics & Download - Listen Now!

Halsey has dropped her hot new track “Strangers,” featuring Lauren Jauregui!

The 22-year-old singer and the 20-year-old Fifth Harmony member teamed up for the epic duet and pro-LGBTQ love song.

“I just love that Lauren and I are two women who have a mainstream pop presence doing a love song for the LGBTQ community,” Halsey said during her appearance on the Zach Sang Show. “It’s unheard of. It’s very rare to see it from a female perspective.”

“I was thinking to myself, if I want this song to be believable, it needs to be real, so I’m not going to put a girl on the song to sing who’s straight,” she added. “I’m just not going to do it. So I reached out to Lauren, and she came in and she cut the vocal and it sounds awesome. Our voices sound really cool together because we both have really raspy voices. Mine’s a little more delicate than hers. Hers is like really powerful and big and raspy, and mine is kind of like light and raspy. But it’s really cool.”

“Strangers” follows Halsey‘s previous two singles “Now or Never” and “Eyes Closed.”

The songs will be featured on Halsey‘s second album, hopeless fountain kingdom, set for release Friday (May 26).
