Olivia Munn revealed that the reason she turned down Morena Baccarin‘s role in Deadpool is because she did not want to play the “girlfriend” role.
When she took meetings about playing Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse, she wanted to be able to have a fight scene.
“I thought Psylocke was always one of the most lethal characters, and I said, ‘Yes, as long as you’re not using her to be the eye candy. She has really powerful abilities,’” Olivia told American Way. “And they said, ‘Yes, that’s an important part.’ ”
The fight scene could be her monologue,” Olivia added.
Olivia Munn and her boyfriend Aaron Rodgers hold hands while checking out the farmer’s market together on Sunday (May 1) in Studio City, Calif.
The day before, Olivia was in Atlanta, Georgia filming her new movie Office Christmas Party. She was seen on set carrying her pup Chance into her trailer.
That day, Olivia and Aaron welcomed a new pup to the family! “Meet Frank Rodgers. Frankie for short. Mr. Frank for business meetings. 💼🤓 SOOO much love to Sasha from @loveleorescue for rescuing this sweet pup. 🐶💙 We are so excited to have a brother for Chance! #adoptdontshop @FrankieRodgers12,” she posted on Instagram.
The final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse has just debuted online!
The new trailer also includes and confirms the return of Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine toward the end of the clip.
Here’s a synopsis of the film: Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
Olivia Munn is absolutely stunning on the cover of Fashion magazine’s May 2016 issue, on newsstands April 11.
Here’s what the 35-year-old X-Men: Apocalypse star had to share with the mag:
On the plastic surgery rumors: “That’s where it’s unfair: the judgment that is put on women for how we look. If you’re looking bad, you have to cover up. If you’re looking good, you’ve done something or made a deal with the devil.”
On the influence of having a Tiger Mom: “My mother never coddled me. She never really helped me. What I did learn from her was how to have a strong sense of self..She gave me the tools to figure out how to solve problems and fight my own battles.”
On working for the ‘It’s On Us’ campaign, and being a strong influence for young women: “Younger women don’t have their voice yet, they haven’t figured out their strength. It’s really important that women see others in the public eye who don’t back down when someone pushes them.”
