Disney+ Is Rebooting 'The Proud Family'!

The Proud Family is making a comeback.

Disney+ revealed on Thursday (February 27) that the beloved Disney Channel show will be making a return with a new series, nearly twenty years after its debut.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is currently in production and will follow the story of the members of the Proud family: Penny, her parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, her grandmother Suga Mama and, of course, Puff.

Most of the original cast will reprise their voice roles, including Kyla Pratt

“In our minds, the show never really went away, as we still had tons of stories left to tell. It’s the perfect time to bring back this show, and we can’t wait to take fans, old and new alike, on this journey with us,” executive producers Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar said in a statement.

All previous seasons of The Proud Family are currently available on Disney+. Find out what else is now on the streaming service!

Disney +'s 'Turner & Hooch' Series Casts Lyndsy Fonseca & Carra Patterson

Josh Peck is getting two gorgeous co-stars for Disney+‘s Turner and Hooch series.

Lyndsy Fonseca and Carra Patterson have joined the 12-episode show, which is currently in production.

The series will centers on Scott Turner (Peck), who now is a U.S. marshal and when the ambitious, buttoned-up marshal inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the pet he didn’t want may be the partner he needs.

Lyndsy is Laura, Scott’s sister who is still coming to terms with the death of their father. A dog lover, who currently owns special-needs dogs, Laura brings over to Scott their father’s legacy: a huge, slobbery dog named Hooch.

Meanwhile, Carra will play Jessica, Scott’s partner, who is a sharp contrast to his spit-and-polish ways. Brave and quick-thinking on the job, though sometimes her sense of humor gets her in trouble, Jessica genuinely respects and supports Scott.

Here's the Real Reason Why the 'Lizzie McGuire' Reboot Is on Hold (Report)

Lizzie McGuire‘s much-anticipated reboot series is still on hold, and there’s a reason why.

After Hilary spoke out on social media on Tuesday night (February 25), seemingly suggesting that her show faced a similar dilemma as the Love, Simon series that was moved to Hulu for not being reportedly “family friendly” enough for Disney+, a new report from Variety could confirm her frustration.

As we already knew, the show’s production halted in January due to the firing of showrunner Terri Minsky, who spoke out for the story.

“I am so proud of the two episodes we did. Hilary has a grasp of Lizzie McGuire at 30 that needs to be seen. It’s a wonderful thing to watch. I would love the show to exist, but ideally I would love it if it could be given that treatment of going to Hulu and doing the show that we were doing. That’s the part where I am completely in the dark. It’s important to me that this show was important to people. I felt like I wanted to do a show that was worthy of that kind of devotion,” she said.

Hilary did not comment on the story. However, “multiple sources close to the production tell Variety that the star is none too happy with the Mouse House for firing Minsky. The two women wanted to do a more adult version of Lizzie for the revival, while Disney wants a show that would appeal to kids and families, something more akin to the original series.”

The fate of the reboot is still unknown. In case you didn’t see it, here’s what Hilary said prior to this report…

'Love, Simon' Series Makes Official Move from Disney Plus to Hulu & Gets New Title!

Disney Plus’ Love, Simon series is making a move!

The show was originally set to air on Disney Plus but will now launch on Hulu instead, according to Variety.

In addition, the series will now be titled Love, Victor. It focuses on lead Michael Cimino‘s character Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School — the same high school as the movie — on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation.

The 10-episode first season will debut on Hulu in June, which is Pride Month. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Hulu has opened a writers’ room to begin fleshing out a potential second season. Sources also note that Disney felt many issues explored on the show, including alcohol use and sexual exploration, would not fit in with the family-friendly content on Disney Plus.

Original movie star Nick Robinson will narrate the half-hour series in addition to serving as producer. Sophia Bush is also set to star in a recurring role in Love, Victor.
