Cameron Diaz is reportedly in final negotiations to join the cast of Ridley Scott‘s new film The Counselor.

The 39-year-old actress would star opposite Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, and Penelope Cruz playing a character named Malkina, Deadline reports.

Michael Fassbender will be taking on the title role of “a respected lawyer who thinks he can dip a toe into the drug business without getting sucked down, which proves to be a life threatening decision.”

“The project has been described to me as No Country For Old Men on steroids,” the website adds.

Penelope Cruz is in talks to co-star with hubby Javier Bardem in Ridley Scott‘s new film, The Counselor.

The film “centers on an attorney (Michael Fassbender), a good man in need of money, who decides to dabble in the cocaine trade. He teams up with a rich acquaintance (Bardem) for a new business that also brings in a shady type (Brad Pitt). Things don’t go as planned, in what is described as a dialogue-heavy, violent and racy script,” THR reports.

No official offers have been made to Penelope, but if the deal goes through, she will be playing Michael’s love interest.

Brad‘s fiancee Angelina Jolie was also considered for the part of the love interest, but it remains unclear if this will conflict with her filming schedule for Maleficent.

Daniel Craig suits up on the set of the new James Bond film Skyfall on Sunday (March 11) in London, England.

The 44-year-old actor, who plays Bond, was joined on set by Javier Bardem, 43, who plays the film’s villain! These are the first images of Javier in the role!

The film is set to be released on November 9 of this year.

Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, and Jeremy Renner are among Hollywood’s leading men being considered to play the villain in the upcoming thriller The Counselor!

Deadline reports that Brad may not be available for the project but that his name has been brought up for the role.

Michael Fassbender will star in the Ridley Scott directed film, which was written by Cormac McCarthy.

IndieWire explains, “The script is said to be an amped up No Country For Old Men-esque tale that follows a lawyer who naively gets involved in the drug trade and finds himself caught up in a desperate situation”.

Daniel Craig suits up for a photo call for Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond movie, at Massimo’s Restaurant on Thursday (November 3) in London, England.

Joining the 43-year-old actor were co-stars Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, and Berenice Marlohe (the French actress was named the next Bond Girl).

While Sam Mendes, who’s directing the film, kept quiet about much of what to expect from the film, he did tell journalists to expect “a lot of action” in Skyfall.

The film will shoot in Whitehall, London, Pinewood Studios, China, Istanbul, Turkey, and Scotland, Variety reports.
