It was revealed that Oprah asked Meghan for an interview in 2018, ahead of her and Harry’s wedding.

“I remember that conversation very well. I wasn’t even allowed to have this conversation with you personally, right? There had to be people from the — sitting there, there were other people in the room when I was having that conversation,” she said before explaining why this was the right time to speak.

“Well, so many things. That we’re on the other side of a lot of — a lot of life experience that’s happened, and also that we have the ability to make our own choices in a way that I couldn’t have said yes to you then. That wasn’t my choice to make.”

“As an adult who lived a really independent life to then go into this construct that is different than I think what people expect it to be, it’s really liberating to be able to have the right and the privilege in some ways to be able to say yes, I’m ready to talk,” Meghan said.

Meghan Markle is accusing the royal family of something in the interview.

Harry and Meghan‘s interview will air on March 7 on CBS.

What's 'The Firm'? Why Meghan Markle Uses the Phrase in Oprah Winfrey Interview

In her tell-all, sit down interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle uses the phrase “The Firm” and you may be wondering what that even means.

“There is an active role that the Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” Meghan alleged about the royal family during one newly released clip from the interview, airing on Sunday (March 7).

Royal biographer Penny Junor described the term the best in her book, “The Firm: The Troubled Life of the House of Windsor.” Basically, the phrase was coined by Prince Philip to describe the royal family and their business.

A blurb from Penny‘s book reads, “However you look at it, the royal family is a big business, though one with more ups and downs than the stock market. Prince Philip calls it ‘The Firm,’ and all the royal executives and their powerful associates are supposed to make every effort to avoid even a hint of scandal that could diminish the reputation of the family business.” Meghan actually alleged that “The Firm” is keeping negative stories about them in the media.

This past week, two new stories about Meghan Markle emerged, one with allegations of bullying towards her staffers while she was part of the royal family. Buckingham Palace released a statement about these allegations and launched an investigation. Twitter has been reacting to these new stories that were released just days before the sit-down interview.

Prince Harry Reveals His Late Mom, Princess Diana, Influenced His Royal Exit

Prince Harry will be opening up about his late mother, Princess Diana, during his sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey alongside wife Meghan Markle.

In a new sneak peek of their first interview since stepping down as senior royals, Harry has revealed that his fear of history repeating itself was a reason for his and Meghan‘s exit.

“For me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side,” he says in the clip, referencing what he might imagine happened with his mom, Diana.

He added, “I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago because it has been unbelievably tough for the two of us but at least we had each other.”

Diana died in 1997 after being injured in a Paris car crash while being pursued by paparazzi.

Harry previously spoke about the amount of pressure he and Meghan both felt in an interview with James Corden, which aired just last week.

Harry and Meghan‘s interview will air on March 7 on CBS.
