Rihanna Is Focused On Saving the World Instead of Her Music

Rihanna went live on Instagram on Friday night (April 10) to host a dance party with fans around the world and her upcoming album became a topic of conversation!

The 32-year-old singer has been making fans wait for a long time for new music and you shouldn’t be expecting her ninth album anytime soon.

“If one of y’all motherf–kers ask me about the album one more time when I’m tryna save the world unlike y’all president… on sight!” Rihanna said during the Instagram Live session.

Rihanna has already donated millions of dollars, sent personal protective equipment to medical workers, started an initiative to help domestic violence victims affected by the pandemic, and supported people in need amid this health crisis.

Rihanna & Twitter's Jack Dorsey Team Up to Support Domestic Violence Victims Affected by Stay-at-Home Orders

Rihanna is teaming up with Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey to address the current crisis for domestic violence victims in Los Angeles as a result of the COVID-19 “stay at home” order.

Rihanna‘s Clara Lionel Foundation and Dorsey are going to co-fund a joint grant that will go to the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles. They were each committing $2.1 million for a total donation of $4.2 million.

The funds “will provide 10 weeks of support including shelter, meals and counseling for individuals and their children suffering from domestic violence at a time when shelters are full and incidents are on the rise.”

It has been reported that approximately 90 people per week (plus their children in many cases) are being turned away from domestic violence shelters ever since the Safer at Home order began.

“At approximately $125 per day, the grant will cover housing and food for 90 domestic violence victims per week, with an additional 90 victims every week thereafter for 10 weeks,” CLF said in a statement.

Rihanna has already donated $5 million to aiding the health crisis, she also donated medical supplies to the New York pandemic relief, and she and Jay-Z teamed up for a $2 million donation to support “undocumented workers, the incarcerated, homeless and elderly populations, and children of frontline healthcare workers.”

Jack recently donated $1 billion to the coronavirus relief efforts.

Rihanna & Jay-Z Donate $2 Million to Coronavirus Relief

Rihanna and Jay-Z‘s foundations have together donated $2 million to COVID-19 relief efforts.

Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) and the rapper’s Shawn Carter Foundation (SCF) will both be donating to help “undocumented workers, the incarcerated, homeless and elderly populations, and children of frontline healthcare workers,” Rolling Stone reports. The funds will be given to ACLU, New York Immigration Coalition, Mayor’s Fund for L.A. and Fund for Public Schools.

“In times of crisis it is imperative that we come together as one community to ensure that everyone, especially the most vulnerable, has access to critical needs: shelter, health, nutrition and education,” Gloria Carter, Jay-Z’s mother and the CEO of his foundation, said in a statement. “The only way to get through this pandemic is with love and action.”

Rihanna Tells 'British Vogue' She's 'Very Aggressively Working On Music'!

Rihanna is gorgeous in a durag on the cover of the May issue of British Vogue, which will be available via free digital download and on newsstands Friday (April 3)!

Here’s what the 32-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag…

On her imminent new album: “I can’t say when I’m going to drop… but I am very aggressively working on music. I don’t want all my albums to feel like themes. There are no rules, there’s no format, there’s nothing. There’s just good music and if I feel it, I’m putting it out.”

On the possibility of a reggae album: “Oh no, that is happening… I feel like I have no boundaries. I’ve done everything – I’ve done all the hits, I’ve tried every genre – now I’m just, I’m wide open. I can make anything that I want.”

On the success of Fenty Beauty: “I’m shocked by people saying, ‘Oh my god, what made you think of making make-up for black girls? I’m like, What? You thought this was like a marketing strategy? Like I’m a genius? It’s shocking most of the time, then it turns into disappointment that this is groundbreaking right now. In my mind, this was just normal.”

This month, British Vogue is offering a free digital edition of the magazine for the May issue. Readers will be able to access Rihanna‘s British Vogue feature and browse the digital pages, following instructions given on the magazine’s website.
