You might have heard whispers that Scarlett Johansson was attached to the project. Mark told Vulture that was not the case.

“I did test her for something, but not Mean Girls — I actually tested Scarlett for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, when I was going to direct it with Owen Wilson in the lead, and she definitely would have booked the part,” he revealed. “We had four really big actresses test — I’m not going to say who else — and she came in and nailed it, and Owen and I were in love with her. But then Hurricane Katrina hit and we ended up losing our sets, and we tried to reconfigure it for Toronto and we couldn’t do it.”

“As I drove us out of the parking lot with the paps chasing behind on foot, the girl I’d just met climbed out of the passenger seat, straddled me, and shoved her tongue down my throat – and that’s how I met Lindsay Lohan,” James wrote in the book (via The Mirror).

He continued, “After a brief pit stop at Jamie Foxx‘s hotel room, where he and a few friends were drinking, Lindsay and I headed back to hers. By now it was late, but she’d invited a few people over. They were all pretty messy. I was recording the next day, so at around 3 am I told her I was heading home. Lindsay begged me not to leave. She told me that I should just climb into her bed and she promised me that she’d be there in half an hour. Taking me by the hand, she led me to the bedroom, put me in her bed, kissed me, and left – and I fell asleep with the sound of the party in the background.”

James said in the book that he was awoken by Lindsay‘s security guard telling him that he needed to leave. She must have been interested in him still though, as she asked him to hang out at a party just four days later.

In a new video segment for Cosmopolitan‘s Cheap Shots series, James talked about that moment.

“It was a thing, rather than a fling…A security guard. I was removed from the building by a security guard. That’s absolutely, one hundred percent true. Twice. Jamie then called out Disney to start working on a Freaky Friday sequel so that she and Lindsay could reunite on screen.

The two have been campaigning for years to get Disney to make a sequel to their beloved movie.

Lindsay Lohan and more of her Mean Girls co-stars are spilling on getting the gang back together again to film a commercial for Walmart.

If you missed it, earlier this week Lindsay, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert got into character as Cady, Karen and Gretchen in the commercial, which revealed what all three women had done with their lives since the movie.

They were joined by fellow co-stars Daniel Franzese and Rajiv Surendra, who played Damian and Kevin Gnapoor, respectively!

Now that we’ve all had time to bask in the glory of the totally fetch commercial, its stars are opening up about the chance to reunite.

“It was so nice being back together after all these years,” Lindsay gushed to E! News. “It was great catching up with everyone.”

Lacey agreed, telling the outlet, “It was wonderful to spend the day with Amanda and Lindsay. It was so much fun to reminisce and be together again after all these years.”

“And what better time to get together than right before the holidays,” Daniel added. “We think fans are going to be super excited to see us after all these years. I know we are excited for everyone to see what we’ve all been up to.”

Rajiv shared a similar sentiment, explaining that it felt like “a really special form of time traveling.”

The actor, remembered for his iconic rap in the movie, opened up about his decision to leave Hollywood and shared what he’s up to now in an interview earlier this year.

Notably, Rachel McAdams did not reprise her role of Regina George in the commercial. A source explained why.
