Young Sheldon is one of the biggest shows on CBS today.

The coming-of-age television series, set in the late ’80s to early ’90s, is a spin-off prequel series based on the equally huge show, The Big Bang Theory.

The show centers around Sheldon Cooper, portrayed by Jim Parsons in Big Bang Theory, growing up with his family in East Texas.

The TV series first premiered back in 2017, and was picked up for a full season that began airing weekly in November of that year. Sadly, the show is coming to an end, and the seventh and final season is scheduled to premiere on February 15, 2024. Find out who’s back on the show!

Young Sheldon is heading to our TVs for the final time this February.

The hit CBS series is a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory, based on main character Sheldon Cooper and his family living in East Texas.

CBS renewed the series through to a seventh and final season, with Season 7 airing on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET. And we know the stars likely to return on the cast – and one who may not!

Young Sheldon is coming to an end in 2024, but CBS will be keeping The Big Bang Theory franchise alive with another spinoff series.

As you probably know, The Big Bang Theory ran for 12 seasons from 2007 to 2019 and Young Sheldon is a prequel series following Jim Parsons‘ character Sheldon Lee Cooper. The show premiered in September 2017 and has been one of CBS’ biggest shows ever since then.

While The Big Bang Theory was a multi-camera comedy series filmed in front of an audience, Young Sheldon was a single-camera series shot in a closed studio.

Variety reports that the new spin-off will go back to the multi-camera format. Two actors from Young Sheldon are expected to reprise their roles.

The cast of Young Sheldon gathers up on the red carpet for a major milestone celebration!

Iain Armitage, Lance Barber, Zoe Perry, Raegan Revord, Montana Jordan, Annie Potts, as well as Matt Hobby and Wyatt McClure stepped out for the premiere of the 100th episode of Young Sheldon in Burbank, Calif., on Friday (March 18).

Currently in its fifth season, Young Sheldon is a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, centering on the upbringing of Sheldon Cooper, played by Iain.

Here’s a full summary: As he struggles to be understood by his family, classmates and neighbors, Sheldon’s mother arms him with the best tool she can come up with: reminding bullies his dad is the football coach and his brother is on the team. His twin sister doesn’t share his exceptional mind, but she has a much clearer vision of what life has in store for the young genius.
