Here’s what else Zayn had to share:

On quitting the band: “It is crazy and wild and a bit mad. But at the same time I’ve never felt more in control in my life. On wanting to leave: “I did try to do something that I wasn’t happy doing for a while, for the sake of other people’s happiness.”

'X Factor UK' Judge Louis Walsh Thinks Zayn Malik's Decision Was Influenced by Fiance Perrie Edwards

One of the guys who more or less helped discover Zayn Malik is now speaking out about his departure from One Direction.

X Factor UK judge Louis Walsh opened up about the 22-year-old singer’s decision and how it likely had something to do with fiancee Perrie Edwards.

“What I found in the past is as things get on, and as they get girlfriends, the girlfriends are whispering things in their ears and saying like, ‘You should be a solo star,’ ‘You should be the lead singer.’ That’s usually the problem,” Louis told Ireland’s RTE Radio One (via E! News).

When asked if he thinks Perrie is the new Yoko Ono, he said, “Yeah, it happens in every band. Happens in every band in the whole world. But they’ve had an amazing five years.”

Billy Zane Thinks Zayn Malik Tweets Are About Him (Video)

Billy Zane responds to the Internet craze surrounding Zayn Malik‘s departure from One Direction in this new Funny or Die video.

“Hey, Internet. Zane here. I guess you know that, clearly,” the 49-year-old actor says. “I woke up to a real spike in my awareness in my Internet heat. I had no idea all my fans were hysterical 14-year-old girls.”

He tells them to remember the classic Celine Dion lyrics (from his film Titanic, of course), “Near, far, wherever you are, my heart will go on. And on.”

Billy ends the video by taking credit for some 1D lyrics, saying, “You light up my world, like nobody else. You don’t know you’re beautiful and that’s what makes you beautiful.”

Nick Jonas Comments About Zayn Malik Leaving One Direction

Nick Jonas knows what it feels like to leave a band.

The 22-year-old former Jonas Brothers musician chatted with ET about Zayn Malik, after it was announced that he had left One Direction.

“It’s a lot of pressure. I think that my situation was really unique, I had family with me. I feel like it is a tough world already, and I was thankful to have family and walk through it with them, but it’s all about how you balance it, and trying to implement a few moments of normalcy and quietness in a really crazy ride,” he shared.

Nick added, “I feel for the fans, and totally understand fame as well and what he’s going through, but all the best to all of them.”

Liam Payne Says 'It's Okay To Be Sad & Upset' Over Zayn Malik Leaving One Direction

Liam Payne has broken his silence on Twitter to write a sincere letter to One Direction fans after Zayn Malik announced he was leaving the band.

Read what the 21-year-old musician wrote on Twitter:

“In light of recent events, I think this is important to say. For the past five years now I’ve been part of something so special I don’t think any of us really understand, something that can mean the world to people and put a smile on the face of our fans even in the darkest times. To a lot of people it’s just a bunch of silly kids in a band but to the people involved it means so much more. this last week has been some of the worst times, possibly the worst it’s something we are all deeply saddened by.”

“It’s sad to think for the time being we won’t grace the stage as five bros, or have the same fun on a tour bus or laughs in a hotel together that we have over the years but I’m super sure us and Zayn will always remain the closest friends. I guess what I’m really trying to sat is it’s far from over. When we very 1st became successful we all agreed that one direction had become much bigger than each individual member that’s why I feel like right now it’s ok to be sad and upset but I do ask everyone who is a fan of us to please keep ur faith in us. I’m sure there’s a lot more to come.

“All love, Liam.”
