Fans have some theories about how Emma Stone responded to one of Jimmy Kimmel‘s jokes about her movie Poor Things at the 2024 Academy Awards.

The 35-year-old actress starred in the Yorgos Lanthimos picture, which earned her a second Best Actress nomination.

During the show on Sunday (March 10), Jimmy made a joke about the movie’s content, implying that it was overly sexualized and that they couldn’t show much of it on TV.

Emma was seen leaning over and talking to her seatmates about the joke, and two theories have emerged about what she said.

Best Actress nominee Emma Stone has arrived for a big night at the 2024 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 10) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The 35-year-old actress is nominated for her work in Poor Things. Emma previously won an Oscar back in 2017 for her work in La La Land.

During ABC’s Oscars pre-show, Emma was asked if it gets any easier to be a potential winner now that she’s already an Oscar winner.

Emma responded that she wasn’t too sure, saying, “Each film is so different and each group of people is so different and each team of people is so different….I don’t know, it’s like apples and oranges I guess!”

Best Actress nominees Emma Stone and Sandra Huller, Best Supporting Actress nominees America Ferrera and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Best Original Screenplay nominee Justine Triet, and Best Original Song nominee Finneas were all in attendance at the event on Thursday (March 7) at Ennis House in Los Angeles.

More stars who attended included Zendaya, Barry Keoghan, Steven Yeun, Lana Del Rey, Haim, and more.

Throughout the evening guests dined on a special menu curated by the award-winning Chef Michael Cimarusti of Providence LA, sipped on specialty cocktails and danced to the DJ set by Ross One.

There was plenty of star power in the front row at Louis Vuitton‘s fashion show during Paris Fashion Week this season!

Emma Stone, Cate Blanchett, and Saoirse Ronan were among the celebs who stepped out for the event on Tuesday (March 5) in Paris, France.

More stars in attendance included Dune: Part Two actress Lea Seydoux, Cynthia Erivo, Jaden Smith, K-Pop star Lisa, Shay Mitchell, Lashana Lynch, and longtime couple Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor, among others.

In his program note, creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere said, “This is a particular evening. A meaningful evening. Ten years ago, you came to my first show for Louis Vuitton. I remember the feeling of ‘beginning’, the immense joy I felt to be among you. This joy is still here. Ten years later, this evening is a new dawn.”

Emma Stone and husband Dave McCary are stepping out for the premiere of Problemista, which they co-produced!

The couple joined star, director, and writer Julio Torres along with fellow cast members Tilda Swinton, Isabella Rossellini, James Scully, Spike Einbinder, Larry Owens, Kelly McCormack, and Laith Nakli at the movie’s premiere on Tuesday evening (February 27) held at the Village East Cinema in New York City.

Fellow producer Ali Herting also joined Emma and Dave on the red carpet.

The Yorgos Lanthimos film is nominated for 11 Oscars, which is the second-most of any movie in 2024 Emma is up for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Bella Baxter.

During a panel at the Celebration of the Nominees for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures on Saturday (February 24) in Los Angeles, Emma dished on the eating requirements for her role.
