Amazon Renews 'Hunters' With Al Pacino, Logan Lerman & More For Season 2

Al Pacino and Logan Lerman will be back for another season of Amazon’s Hunters, Deadline reports.

The thriller drama was created by David Weil and is executive produced by Jordan Peele.

“I am beyond grateful to Jen and the Amazon family for their continued extraordinary support of Hunters,” David shared in a statement. “Alongside our magnificent cast, incredible crew, and brilliant writers and producers, I am more eager than ever to share the next chapter of the Hunters saga with the world.”

The first season of Hunters followed a diverse group of people, living in 1970s NYC, who have discovered and determined to bring down hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials that are conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the United States.

Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker and Lena Olin also star in the show.

You can see the reason why Al decided to join the series, despite not having starred in anything on television before.

Amazon Could Pull 'Dukes of Hazzard' From Streaming - Find Out Why

You might not be able to stream the classic television show, Dukes of Hazzard, any longer on IMDb TV.

The streaming service is considering pulling the series, which stars John Schneider and Tom Wopat, over its use of the Confederate Flag.

Variety reports that Amazon Prime is in talks of the process, because of the oppression that the flag represents.

The show revolves around two Southern cousins — Bo and Luke Duke — who race around rural Georgia in the General Lee, a souped-up 1969 Dodge Charger, eluding the local sheriff. The car famously featured the flag on the top of it.

Earlier this week, NASCAR made the announcement that it would no longer fly the Confederate Flag during races, and that decision came after the sport’s only Black driver, Bubba Wallace, spoke out about it.

After the decision, this other driver decided to leave.

Jeff Bezos Stands By Amazon's Support of Black Lives Matter In Email Response to Customer

Jeff Bezos is standing by Amazon’s stance on Black Lives Matter, sharing his response to one customer who cried out that “All Lives Matter” in an email to the company.

In the screenshot of an email, the customer says that it’s “disturbing” and “offensive” that the online retailer posted a message on the site showing they stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

“I have to disagree with you,” Jeff replied to the email in a second screenshot on the post. “‘Black Lives Matter’ doesn’t mean other lives don’t matter. Black lives matter speaks to racism and the disproportionate risk that Black people face in our law enforcement and justice system.”

He went on to point out that he doesn’t have to worry that his son “might be choked to death while being detained one day. I want you to know I support this movement that we see happening all around us and my stance won’t change.”

Just a few days before, Amazon announced that they would be donating $10 million to social justice organizations in support of Black communities.

Lisbeth Salander TV Show in the Works at Amazon

Amazon is developing a series about Lisbeth Salander, the character created by author Stieg Larsson in the Millenium book series.

The project – which is currently titled “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” – will “not be a sequel or continuation of the story from the books or the films into which they were adapted,” according to Variety.

Instead, the TV show will take Lisbeth into today’s world with a brand new setting, characters, and a new story.

Amazon Studios and Left Bank will produce the show in association with Sony Pictures Television.

In the past, Rooney Mara played Lisbeth in 2011 movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo while Claire Foy played Lisbeth in the 2018 movie The Girl in the Spider’s Web.

As of right now, no actress has been cast to play Lisbeth Salander.

Amazon's Jeff Bezos Donates $100 Million to Feeding America

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has announced that he is making a $100 million donation to Feeding America to help out food banks during the current health crisis.

The 56-year-old businessman, who is the richest person in the world, is doing his part to make sure that people are able to eat during these tough times.

“Even in ordinary times, food insecurity in American households is an important problem, and unfortunately COVID-19 is amplifying that stress significantly. Non-profit food banks and food pantries rely in large part on surplus food from a range of food businesses,” Jeff wrote in a post on Instagram. “For example, many restaurants donate excess food. But during this time of social distancing, restaurants are closed, and many other normal channels of excess food have also shut down. To make matters worse, as supply is dwindling, demand for food bank services is going up.⁣”

“Today, I want to support those on the front lines at our nation’s food banks and those who are relying on them for food with a $100 million gift to @FeedingAmerica. Feeding America will quickly distribute the funds to their national network of food banks and food pantries, getting food to those countless families who need it,” Jeff continued in his post.

“Feeding America is the largest non-profit focused on food security. Millions of Americans are turning to food banks during this time. If you want to help, the link to Feeding America is in my bio. They’d be excited and grateful for donations of any size,” he concluded.

Last month, Jeff announced that he would be donating $10 billion of his own money for another important cause.
