The 30-year-old singer was set to perform a Bob Dylan song at the awards show on Sunday night (May 22), but the producer decided to block her performance after it was rumored that she would use the platform to discuss their litigation.
Here is the statement released by Luke‘s record label Kemosabe Records: “Kesha’s performance on the Billboard Music Awards was always approved, in good faith. Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation. Now that Kemosabe has obtained assurances, that it is relying upon, from Kesha, her representatives and Dick Clark Productions that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform, the approval has been restored.”
On Wednesday night, Kesha took the stage at a Ben Folds concert to give the performance she was set to perform at the awards show.
