Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis arrive in style to the 2012 Writers Guild Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium on Sunday (February 19) in Los Angeles.

Octavia, 39, who wore a Tadashi Shoji dress and Stuart Weitzman shoes, and Viola, 46, presented The Help‘s writer and director Tate Taylor with the 2012 Paul Selvin Award!

The 39-year-old actress picked up the award for Oustanding Supporting Actress for her role in The Help!

The Help stars Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer arrive in style at the 2012 BAFTAs, aka Orange British Academy Film Awards, held at the Royal Opera House on Sunday (February 12) in London, England.

Viola wore custom Valentino for the Green Carpet Challenge – it’s eco fabric and is made from recycled plastic bottles!

Octavia, who wore Tadashi Shoji, took home the award for Best Supporting Actress! Before the show, she paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston, tweeting, “#onemomentintime RIP Whitney. My heart breaks for Bobbie Christina!”

Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer attend the Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday (February 6) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Both are nominated for Best Supporting Actress at this year’s Oscars – Ocatvia for The Help and Melissa for Bridesmaids.

Octavia recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show where she chatted about award season and using triple spanx for red carpets.

“I could not party [one] night because I was being pinched in places that I didn’t know it was possible. I ran into Melissa McCarthy … one of my closest friends. I said, ‘Oh my god Melissa, I’m about to die. My Spanx are killing me.’ She said, ‘I just went to the bathroom and took mine off,” Octavia shared.

Octavia Spencer stops by The Ellen DeGeneres Show for an episode airing Wednesday (February 1).

The 41-year-old Oscar nominee shared it’s been “very stressful” during award season with all the fittings and dresses.

“I was not a girl scout but I try to be very prepared. I try to over prepare, shoes and Spanx. I triple Spanx. Which is not good,” Octavia told Ellen.

“I could not party [one] night because I was being pinched in places that I didn’t know it was possible. I ran into Melissa McCarthy who is in Bridesmaids and brilliant, one of my closest friends. I said, ‘Oh my god Melissa, I’m about to die. My Spanx are killing me.’ She said, ‘I just went to the bathroom and took mine off,” she added.
