The stars of The Color Purple are taking over New York City!
The stars of the new movie musical – Danielle Brooks, Fantasia Barrino, and Taraji P. Henson – helped light up the Empire State Building on Tuesday afternoon (December 12) in NYC.
Director Blitz Bazawule and producer Oprah Winfrey were also in attendance.

Oprah Winfrey has a very tight-knit inner circle and she previously said that she only has a few close friends.
The 67-year-old talk show host said in an October 2021 interview that she only has three close friends and she discussed her connections with them.
“I don’t have a lot of friends,” Oprah admitted during her appearance on the Making Space with Hoda Kotb podcast.
“I never really expanded that circle until recently,” she added. “You know, I had become friends with a couple of people in my later adult life in the past five years.”

Not everyone is planning to have kids.
Having children is a very personal decision, and one that not everyone is planning to make for themselves. The movie’s stars – including Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Halle Bailey, Ciara and H.E.R. -arrived at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures dressed in their chicest outfits.
They were joined by so many other celebrities, who showed support at the big event. The guestlist included Oprah Winfrey (who acted as a producer for the movie), Ariana DeBose, Chloe Bailey, Quinta Brunson and so many others.

Oprah Winfrey steps out looking amazing at the world premiere of The Color Purple on Wednesday evening (December 6) in Los Angeles.
While at the event, she met up with director Steven Spielberg. Both Oprah and Steven are acting as producers of the film, set to be released on December 25, 2023. Steven directed the 1985 version of the film, which Oprah starred in. Oprah portrayed Sofia, and was nominated for an Oscar.
She also posed with director Blitz Bazawule, Tyler Perry, and the full cast at the premiere.
While on the purple carpet, ET mentioned Oprah‘s physique.
“What’s going on? Because if this is WeightWatchers, please, sign me up tonight!” she was asked.
“It’s not one thing, it’s everything,” Oprah said. “I intend to keep it that way.”
“I was on that treadmill today,” she shared.
FYI: Oprah is wearing Dolce & Gabbana.
Taraji P. Henson is looking absolutely radiant at The Color Purple premiere!
The star-studded event took place on Wednesday (December 6) at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
The 53-year-old actress, who stars as Shug Avery in the highly anticipated film, looked gorgeous in a black gown complete with a train and an elaborate white design at the top.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck made a red hot couple while arriving at Elle’s 2023 Women In Hollywood Celebration on Tuesday evening (December 5) held at Nya Studios in Los Angeles.
