The pipeline would be used to transport crude oil from North Dakota into Illinois but would cross the Missouri River a mile away from the Standing Rock Reservation and threaten residents’ drinking water.

“We stood to protest the Dakota Access Pipeline all day… Through the rain. And hope Obama heard us. Please sign the petition if you haven’t,” Riley wrote on her Instagram.

You can sign the petition and stand with the Native Americans. At the time of this posting, the petition has 164,475 signatures.

Shailene Woodley & Rosario Dawson Protest Dakota Access Pipeline

Shailene Woodley and Rosario Dawson attend the Stop The Dakota Access Pipeline protest at Union Square on Sunday (August 7) in New York City.

The pair held up signs and marched with others to stop the transport of crude oil from North Dakota into Illinois. The pipeline would interfere with Native American territory (the Standing Rock Reservation). Shailene has been posting videos from the protests on Facebook.

“We need to stand together; we need to wake up. We cannot let the fossil fuel industry continue to walk over all people in this country and especially Native American people,” Shailene said in one post.

You can sign the petition and stand with the Native Americans. At the time of this posting, the petition has 164,028 signatures.

Shailene Woodley & Rosario Dawson Are Skeptical Over Hillary Clinton

Shailene Woodley, Rosario Dawson, and Susan Sarandon attend a press conference in support of Ohip Rep. Nina Turner at the 2016 Democratic National Convention on Wednesday (July 27) in Philadelphia, Penn.

The ladies were also joined by Danny Glover while supporting Turner, a Bernie Sanders backer who says she was kicked off the DNC program without any reason given.

Rosario and Shailene spoke with The Young Turks about Nina and why they are skeptical about Hillary Clinton being the Democratic nominee.

“If you tell someone, ‘You have to vote for this person to prevent A, B, C and D,’ I don’t think there’s going to be much momentum,” Shailene said.

“When I’m at the DNC and I’m seeing Trump’s name everywhere because ‘Love Trumps Hate,’ I want to know that that love is actually there. Saying that you’re better than Trump is not saying very much … I think it’s important that [Sanders supporters’] votes are earned and not just expected to be delivered,” Rosario said.

Shailene Woodley Calls Out 'False Narratives' at DNC - Read Her Tweets

Shailene Woodley, a longtime supporter of Bernie Sanders, called out “false narratives” at the 2016 Democratic National Convention during night two of the four-day event.

The 24-year-old actress was one of the many celebrities at the event and she was there to use her voice to support the “Stop TPP” movement. She joined others who are opposed to the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a 12-country trade deal signed by President Obama.

While Hillary Clinton initially supported it (she later changed her position), Bernie has been opposed from the beginning.

Shailene was at the convention on Tuesday night (July 26) and pointed out that people left the arena after Hillary was officially nominated for president by the Democratic party. She also called out the “Hillary for America” official Twitter account for using a photo of a Bernie supporter crying and twisting it to make it pro-Hillary.

“the seats cleared out after they announced #HRC’s nomination. #Philly #DNCinPHL,” Shailene captioned the below video on Twitter.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zachary Quinto & Shailene Woodley Debut New 'Snowden' Trailer at Comic-Con 2016

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zachary Quinto sandwich in Shailene Woodley in the press line during the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday (July 21) in San Diego, Calif.

The three stepped out for the Snowden panel along with director Oliver Stone where they debuted a brand new trailer for the thriller.

Snowden centers on the personal story of Edward Snowden, the polarizing figure who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world.

He is considered a hero by some, and a traitor by others. No matter which you believe, the epic story of why he did it, who he left behind, and how he pulled it off makes for one of the most compelling films of the year.

Shailene Woodley Reacts To 'Ascendant' Straight to TV News

Shailene Woodley has responded to the news about Ascendant heading straight to TV instead of the big screen.

The 24-year-old actress, who stars as Tris in the film franchise, spoke to Deadline about the news just after she arrived at 2016 San Diego Comic-Con.

“Honestly, I was on a plane when all that happened and I landed, and I’m like ‘Whoa, what’s going on?!’” she shared. “I need to talk and find out what the details are.”

Shailene didn’t comment on if she’d return as Tris for the TV plans at all.

If you missed it, Lionsgate announced yesterday that Ascendant, the final film, would skip the big screen for a TV movie and spinoff series.

Earlier in the week, Shailene and Kendrick Sampson made an appearance on The Young Turks show, where they discussed why these issues matter.

“The root of the problem is fear. There’s a reason we are all so narcissistic and think our planet, our lives are the most important lives out there. We are so disconnected from another human being that we expect everyone to be our moon and revolve around our planet because it’s about fear and survival. We don’t live in a country where everyone is thriving and everyone is just trying to scrape by,” she explained.

See all that Shailene had to say in the video below…
