The winner of American Idol was revealed this evening (May 16) during the season twelve finale at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.
The final two contestants were Candice Glover and Kree Harrison during a season that was dominated by the female contestants. It was the first time in the series’ history that the top five singers were all girls!
During the finale, there were guest appearances by such artists as Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson, Emeli Sande, Jessie J, and more. Even judges Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson took to the stage!

Candice Glover and Jennifer Hudson belt out the song “Inseparable” during the American Idol Season 12 Finale held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Finale on Thursday (May 16) in Los Angeles.
The performance was one of the highlights of an evening that saw performances from such guest artists as Adam Lambert, Emeli Sande, and Jessie J.
This weekend, Jennifer‘s performance on the 2013 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction will air on HBO at 9/8c. Make sure to tune in.

Janelle Arthur hits the red carpet at the American Idol Season 12 Finale held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Thursday (May 16) in Los Angeles.
The 23-year-old singer, who came in fifth place during the competition, got to perform the song “Done” with The Band Perry during the show. Watch the video below!

Mariah Carey takes to the stage looking beautiful to perform a medley of her greatest hits during the American Idol Season 12 Finale on Thursday (May 16) at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.
The 43-year-old judge performed her songs “Vision of Love,” “Make It Happen,” “My All,” “Hero,” “We Belong Together,” and her current single “#Beautiful”.
“Thank you for supporting # beautiful and making it #1 on R&B! #L4L!!!!!!!” Mariah tweeted after finding out that her new single has become her 27th number one on the R&B/Hip Hop charts.

Reese Witherspoon chats on her cell phone while getting out of her car and heading into Boa restaurant for lunch on Thursday afternoon (May 16) in Los Angeles.
It was just reported that the 37-year-old actress will be reuniting with her Walk the Line co-star Joaquin Phoenix in the upcoming movie Inherent Vice, according to Deadline.
The film will also star Owen Wilson and Benecio del Toro and be directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. It “takes place in Los Angeles at the turn of the 1970s, as drug-fueled detective Larry “Doc” Sportello investigates the disappearance of an ex-girlfriend.” More Here! »

Adam Lambert and Jessica Sanchez hit the red carpet at the American Idol Season 12 Finale on Thursday (May 16) at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.
The former contestants both came in second place on their respective seasons.
Other past contestants spotted on the carpet: Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart, Chris Richardson, Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks, and Danny Gokey.
It has been reported that Adam will perform with Angie Miller during the finale!

Zoe Saldana wears a silver suit while making her way out of the Sirius Studios on Thursday (May 16) in New York City.
Earlier in the day, the 34-year-old actress was seen wearing a sheer black top while stopping at the Today Show.
It is being reported that Zoe is getting close with Italian artist Marco Perego (pictured here) after the pair was seen holding hands at the Star Trek Into Darkness after party, according to E! News.
“Zoe is super-happy right now. She’s in a really happy place,” a source said, adding that Marco is a “really good guy. He has a really good energy.”
