Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen hit the blue carpet at the 2013 USA Upfront Presentation on Thursday (May 16) at Pier 36 in New York City.

The ladies were joined by their Modern Family co-stars Eric Stonestreet, Ty Burrell, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, and Aubrey Anderson-Emmens to present their show, which will air in syndication on USA.

Also pictured: Jesse Tyler Ferguson on the cover of The Advocate‘s Summer of Love issue.

“I feel like there are a lot of people who still aren’t comfortable with gay characters on television,” Jesse shared with the mag. “But what I admire about our show is that it has a plethora of characters for people to attach to, and slowly those people are becoming attached to Mitchell and Cameron as well. It’s kind of like a Trojan horse. We sneak into a lot of people’s living rooms when they aren’t expecting it and maybe change some minds through the back door.”

Sofia Vergara is smokin’ on the cover of Cosmopolitan‘s June 2013 issue, on newsstands May 7.

Here’s what the 40-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On setting a wedding date with fiance Nick Loeb: “He was already married with a big wedding and I was already married with a big wedding, so we’re going to something but not right now. When he proposed, it was my birthday, and I’d flown more than 100 family and friends to Mexico for six days of partying. It took me forever to arrange the logistics! If I had known I was going to get engaged, I don’t do this stupid birthday.”

On looking great in the bedroom: “No one can be a sex kitten every day, and anyone who tells you that is lying. But I do wear negligees and Japanese silk robes. For a long time, I lived along with my son and only saw my boyfriends in a hotel. So at home, I slept in old tee shirts. I realized when I moved in with Nick that I couldn’t do that. Now, I only keep nice pajamas around, because whatever is there, I’m going to wear.”

On her five year plan: “I’ve never had a plan for anything. I know I’m not going to get any more shows like Modern Family. If it ends in five years, it would be great to do movies and focus on things like my Kmart line. Maybe have a kid. But I am going to be working my whole life. I love making money. I really love it!”

Later in the day, the 40-year-old Modern Family actress made an appearance on the Dr. Oz Show.

“My boyfriend Nicky is three years younger than me, and he’s never had a son,” Sofia said about freezing her eggs to possibly have another child. “I have my son, Manolo, so it’s not an emergency for me to have another kid, but for Nicky, he’s never had a baby.”

“Oh, I took them out already! They’re in the refrigerator. Hopefully, they’ll be fresh by the time I use them.”
