'Tuca & Bertie' Gets Picked Up by Adult Swim After Being Canceled by Netflix!

Tuca & Bertie is getting a second life!

The animated series, created by former BoJack Horseman producer and artist Lisa Hanawalt, will air a new season at Adult Swim after originally being canceled by Netflix, the network confirmed on Friday (May 22).

Adult Swim has ordered 10 episodes, according to The Wrap, and follows two best friends voiced by Ali Wong and Tiffany Haddish.

The series follows “Tuca (Haddish), a cocky, care-free toucan, Bertie (Wong), an anxious, daydreaming song thrush, and Bertie’sboyfriend, Speckle (Steven Yeun), a jovial, optimistic robin.”

“I’ve been a fan of Adult Swim shows since my teens, so I’m thrilled to bring my beloved fowl to the party and be a new voice for a fresh decade of absurd, irreverent, yet heartwarming adult animation,” creator Lisa said of the news.

Tuca & Bertie first premiered on Netflix in May of 2019, and was canceled after one season despite positive reviews.
