Kerry Washington walks the red carpet with Tony Goldwyn at a Scandal cast event hosted by the Smithsonian Associated on Thursday (April 28) at the University of District of Columbia Theater of the Arts in Washington, D.C.
The actors were joined by their co-stars Bellamy Young, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, and Jeff Perry, along with series creator Shonda Rhimes.
It was just announced that Kerry has signed a development deal with ABC Studios to develop broadcast, cable, and digital projects under her production company Simpson Street.
“I believe strongly in the importance of having a seat at the table, which makes starting this production company thrilling for me,” Kerry said in a statement (via Deadline). “It’s an honor to be at a point in my career when I can help generate projects that that are exciting, necessary and truly reflect the world around us. I’m grateful to be on this journey with ABC, a network that remains unparalleled in its commitment to inclusive storytelling.”
