Selena Gomez Wrote A Private Message To Mark Zuckerberg About Facebook's Racism Problem

Selena Gomez went straight to the leadership of Facebook and Instagram to combat the hate and racism issues on the social media platforms.

The 28-year-old singer and actress shared a private message she had written to Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg on her own Instagram Stories.

“Facebook and Instagram are being used to spread hate, misinformation, racism, and bigotry,” Selena wrote in the message. “I am calling you both to HELP STOP THIS.”

She added, “Please shut down groups and users focused on spreading hate speech violence and misinformation. Our future depends on it.”

Selena also stressed the importance of acting now, given the election is less than 50 days away

“We cannot afford to have misinformation about voting,” she continued. “There has to be fact-checking and accountability. Hope to hear back from you ASAP.”

Selena is joining the protest alongside other stars like Kim Kardashian, who participated in the #StopHateForProfit campaign earlier in the week. See what it’s about here…

Demi Lovato Seemingly Reacts After Max Ehrich's Alleged Past Tweets About Her Go Viral

Demi Lovato is seemingly addressing those tweets from fiance Max Ehrich that have started circulating on social media.

The 28-year-old singer took to her Instagram Story to address screenshots of tweets from a few years ago in which the 29-year-old actor said Selena Gomez was a better singer, and was “prettier” than Demi.

“Hahaha selena gomez and demi are cute together [sic] but boy if you think demi is prettier…you’re WRONG!” Max allegedly tweeted.

“There’s a female singer that screams so much, that’s why my girl S is better than you know who,” Max allegedly tweeted in 2015 along with a crying laughing emoji.

Demi is now seemingly responding to the tweets, calling them “fake.”

“It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other. If women have conflict that’s between them NOT YOU,” Demi started her message.

“Secondly, don’t y’all have more important s–t to write about in 2020???” Demi continued. “I challenge any tabloid that dares to type my name to mention Breonna Taylor and the face that her murderers still haven’t been arrested. WRITE ABOUT THAT.”

“So while on one hand I understand have compassion for those who are so horrified at the reality of 2020 that they gotta distract themselves with doctored images in order to not focus on how bad these times are – but on the other hand, if you’re aren’t 13 years old trying to grasp the reality of right now, put on your adult underpants and write about what actually matters. Please.” Demi added.

During an interview earlier this year, Demi said that she and Selena were “not friends” anymore.

Demi and Max announced their engagement in July.

I also feel like I got the opportunity to learn a lot about my country in ways that I never have before.”

“I feel like I’ve gained a sense of knowledge and a sense of feeling good about saying what I’m saying, and I feel good about what I’m standing by, and I’m not going to let other opinions conduct what I feel personally,” Selena added.

Selena Gomez Admits She Felt Pressure to Be Overtly Sexual Earlier in Her Career

Selena Gomez is on the cover of Allure‘s “Best of Beauty” October 2020 issue, out now.

Here’s what the 28-year-old singer and actress had to say…

On feeling an expectation, earlier in her career, to be overtly sexual in her music videos: “I just did things that weren’t really me. There was pressure to seem more adult on my album, Revival. [I felt] the need to show skin…I really don’t think I was [that] person.

On limiting her media intake and why she doesn’t google herself: “I haven’t done that in years. I honestly can’t. I’m strong in a lot of ways, but I think I just have way too much of a sensitive heart.”

On being an entrepreneur and whether she considers herself anyone’s boss: “I would definitely like to say I’m an entrepreneur…. It’s more that I am in control. I am in full control of my life and everything that I do, what is out there, everything. So I would like to say, yes. I’m in charge of everything in my life.”

Selena recently got candid about her mental health diagnosis.
