Selena Gomez & Francia Raisa Are Trending - Find Out Why

Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa are trending together.

The “RESPECT SELENA AND FRANCIA” trend from fans comes following the airing of a Chinese variety show called Who’s The Murderer, which reportedly mocked the duo’s 2017 kidney transplant.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Selena‘s critical surgery became the subject of a TV joke: the Saved By the Bell reboot faced a similar type of backlash in 2020 after multiple scenes poking fun at the transplant.

“We apologize. It was never our intention to make light of Selena’s health. We have been in touch with her team and will be making a donation to her charity, The Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research at USC,” Peacock shared in a statement amid backlash at the end of the year.

Selena Gomez's Fans Aren't Happy After Awards Show Airs Music Video Instead of Live Performance

Selena Gomez‘s fans are not happy tonight.

The 28-year-old singer was reportedly announced as a performer for Premio Lo Nuestro, but she didn’t actually perform at the event.

The Spanish-language awards show honors the best in Latin music and it aired on Univision. Fans were expecting Selena to give her first live performance in over a year, but the network aired what seemed to be an alternative music video for “Baila Conmigo.”

The general consensus among fans is that they would have been perfectly happy to see the new version of the music video, if that’s what was advertised. Fans were eagerly awaiting a live performance and they’re upset that they built up so much anticipation for something that didn’t happen.

You can watch the music video for “Baila Conmigo” right here. Selena probably wasn’t at the event as she has been filming an upcoming Hulu television series in New York City.

Selena Gomez is spilling new details about her upcoming album, Revelación.

In a Vevo Footnotes interview, the 28-year-old singer revealed that most of the album was actually recorded over Zoom.

Revelación is due out on March 12, and Selena has released two singles from the album already: “De Una Vez” and “Baila Conmigo“.
