First 'Ready Player One' Trailer Debuts at Comic-Con Panel!

Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke pose at a photo call for Ready Player One before hitting the stage at the Warner Bros. panel held during 2017 Comic-Con on Saturday (July 22) in San Diego, Calif.

The co-stars were joined at the event by T.J. Miller, Ben Mendelsohn, director Steven Spielberg, and author Ernie Cline.

The futuristic movie features such 80s icons as The Iron Giant, Freddie Krueger, and the DeLorean from Back to the Future. You can see them all in the first footage from the film, which debuted during the panel.

“What made me want to tell the story more than anything else, was the kind of world 2045 gives to people, which is so dystopian,” Steven said during the panel (via THR). “People are leaving the country and all of a sudden virtual reality gives you a choice, gives you another world to exist in. And you can do anything in that world. Anything you can possibly imagine … that interaction between real life and virtual life, by the third act of this movie is virtual non-existant.”
