Jon Hamm Joins Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, & More for ACLU Facebook Live Telethon

Jon Hamm is partnering with The American Civil Liberties Union and other stars for a fundraiser called “Stand for Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU.”

The event will be filmed in New York and streamed on Facebook Live on March 31.

“In these tumultuous times, we need our favorite actors, musicians, and comedians to do what they do best,” the Facebook event reads. “Speak earnestly about politics? No! Entertain you for a great cause? Yes!”

“Because when the Titanic sank, the band kept playing!” it goes on. “Except in this case, the band will be raising money for something that can fix the boat. And Leonardo DiCaprio won’t have to die.”

Other celebs that will help raise money for the ACLU include Tracy Morgan, Ellie Kemper, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, Mahershala Ali, and Amy Poehler.

Tom Hanks is Producing HBO Miniseries About Trump & Presidential Election

Tom Hanks is helping turn the presidential race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton into a an HBO miniseries!

The 60-year-old actor will executive produce the show, while Jay Roach will direct.

The two worked together on the Emmy-winning 2012 HBO film Game Change, which focused on John McCain‘s presidential campaign in 2008.

The new miniseries will be based on the third installment of Mark Halperin and John Heilemann’s Game Change book series.

“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, whose work on their best-selling book Game Change set the bar for political reporting and storytelling inside a presidential campaign,” HBO film president Len Amato said in a statement.

Tom Hanks & Meryl Streep to Star in Steven Spielberg Drama

Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep are teaming up with famed director Steven Spielberg for a new movie!

The duo are set to star in Steven’s upcoming drama The Post, according to THR.

The flick is based on the Pentagon Papers and will focus on The Washington Post‘s role in publishing the infamous study about America’s role in the Vietnam War.

It will center on the work of editor Ben Bradlee, played by Tom, and publisher Kay Graham, played by Meryl.

The Post will be the first time Meryl and Tom will share the big screen.

Tom Hanks Gifts White House Press Corps With Espresso Machine & a Nice Note!

Tom Hanks gave the White House Press Corps a nice upgrade with a brand-new espresso machine!

The 60-year-old actor first gifted the press corps with an espresso machine back in 2004 when hearing they were drinking vending machine coffee. He then replaced the machine again years later.

His newest gift came with the note, “To the White House Press Corps. Keep up the good fight for Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Especially for the Truth part.”

Tom Ford Is Still 'Excited' For The Oscars Despite 'Nocturnal Animals' Snub!

Tom Ford may have been unfortunately left off of the 2017 Oscars nominations list for his film Nocturnal Animals, but he is still looking forward to the big ceremony next week!

While attending the Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s An Unforgettable Evening Gala on Thursday (February 16) in Beverly Hills, the 55-year-old designer-filmmaker revealed that he’s still looking forward to cheering on Michael Shannon, who is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category.

“I’m excited for Michael Shannon, who was in my film, who is nominated,” Tom expressed (via Yahoo). “I think he did an amazing job. I’m so happy that he received a nomination and I’ll be crossing my fingers for him.”

At the event, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson honored Tom with WCRF’s Courage Award. “It’s a little strange because I’m being honored for courage,” Tom added. “But the people who really deserve that award are the people who not only battle this disease but who are at the forefront of research and are taking care of people who have the disease, fighting the disease. I’m quite self conscious about that, however, anything I can to help, I do.”

Also in attendance at the event was Isla Fisher, Glen Powell, Chord Overstreet, Victoria Justice, Jason Derulo, host Tig Notaro, Erin Andrews and her fiance Jarret Stoll, Lisa Kudrow, Amber Valletta, Elizabeth Hurley and Gina Gershon.

FYI: Isla is wearing a Victoria Beckham dress with Edie Parker clutch and John Hardy jewelry. Victoria is wearing a Rebecca Vallance dress and an Edie Parker clutch. Elizabeth and Erin are both carrying Edie Parker as well. Tom and Rita are both wearing Tom Ford.

Oscars Website Mistakenly Lists Wrong Nominees - Read Statement

Amy Adams and Tom Hanks were snubbed from the 2017 Oscar nominations this morning – but an error on the Academy Awards website wrongly listed the pair as nominees for their work in Arrival and Sully, respectively.

“This morning, in an attempt to release breaking news as announced, ABC Digital briefly posted inaccurate nomination information on the Oscar.com website. The nominees announced by the Academy on Twitter were accurate. ABC quickly identified and corrected the errors. We apologize to the Academy, press and fans for any confusion,” ABC told Just Jared in a statement.

On the website, Amy was included in the Best Actress list and nominee Ruth Negga, who stars in Loving, was left off. Tom was listed with the Best Actor list.
