Tom Hanks' 'News of the World' Trailer Debuts - Watch Now!

Tom Hanks‘ brand new movie News of the World has its first trailer!

Here’s a synopsis: Five years after the end of the Civil War, Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd (Hanks), a veteran of three wars, now moves from town to town as a non-fiction storyteller, sharing the news of presidents and queens, glorious feuds, devastating catastrophes, and gripping adventures from the far reaches of the globe. In the plains of Texas, he crosses paths with Johanna (Helena Zengel), a 10-year-old taken in by the Kiowa people six years earlier and raised as one of their own. Johanna, hostile to a world she’s never experienced, is being returned to her biological aunt and uncle against her will. Kidd agrees to deliver the child where the law says she belongs. As they travel hundreds of miles into the unforgiving wilderness, the two will face tremendous challenges of both human and natural forces as they search for a place that either can call home.

The movie is in theaters this Christmas! Watch the trailer…

Tom Hanks Put In His Own Money To Finance Some Scenes For 'Forrest Gump'

Tom Hanks put in his own money to finance some of the parts of Forrest Gump.

In a new interview, the 64-year-old actor opened up about investing some of his own money into the film that would go on to earn him the Oscar for Best Actor.

One of the scenes that Tom backed, along with filmmaker Robert Zemeckis was the run across America.

“And [Zemeckis] said ‘Well, this run is going to cost X amount of dollars.’ And it wasn’t cheap. And I said ‘ok,’” he shared on In Depth with Graham Bensinger. “He said, ‘You and I are going to split that amount, and we’re going to give it back [to Paramount]. We’ll give you the money back, but you guys [Paramount] are going to have to share the profits a little bit more.’ Which the studio said ‘Fabulous, great. ok.’ And it was good for us, too.”

The deal gave both Tom and Robert a larger percentage of the film’s box office gross, and eventually earned them about $65 million in profits from the movie.

Tom Hanks Returns To Australia To Continue Filming on Elvis Presley Biopic

Baz Luhrmann‘s upcoming biopic about Elvis Presley is kicking up production once again, as Tom Hanks returns to Australia.

Production on the film was cut short earlier this year when the 64-year-old actor was one of the first notable people to test positive for COVID-19 coronavirus along with his wife, Rita Wilson, while waiting to start filming in the country.

Variety reports that production will start back up on September 23 in Queensland.

“We’re back to, as Elvis liked to say, ‘taking care of business!’ It is a real privilege in this unprecedented global moment that Tom Hanks has been able to return to Australia to join Austin Butler and all of our extraordinary cast and crew to commence production on Elvis,” Baz shared in a statement about the movie’s status.

“I cannot emphasize enough how lucky we feel in the current climate that the state of Queensland, and Queenslanders in general, have been so supportive of this film. We thank our partners in the Queensland Government and Queensland Health for their extremely diligent process, so that we can be an example how creativity and productivity can proceed safely and responsibly in a way that protects our team and the community at large. We are all excited to start working with Tom Hanks when he is out of quarantine in two weeks.”

Tom was the only known person from the production to get the virus and filming was halted as the infectious agent spread into a pandemic.

Robert Zemickis will be directing the movie, and if cast, would reunite with Tom for their fourth movie together. The first three were Forrest Gump, Cast Away and The Polar Express.

The animated version of Pinocchio is based on Carlo Collodi‘s children’s novel, “The Adventures of Pinocchio, and centered on Geppetto who carves a wooden puppet brought to life by a fairy — and told he will become a real boy if he proves himself to be “brave, truthful, and unselfish.”
