Regina King Makes Directorial Debut with 'One Night in Miami' - Watch the Trailer!

Regina King is generating Oscar buzz once again!

The 49-year-old Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress will be making her directorial debut with the new movie One Night in Miami.

Here’s the movie’s synopsis: On one incredible night in 1964, four icons of sports, music, and activism gathered to celebrate one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. When underdog Cassius Clay, soon to be called Muhammad Ali, (Eli Goree), defeats heavy weight champion Sonny Liston at the Miami Convention Hall, Clay memorialized the event with three of his friends: Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr.) and Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge).

The movie made its debut at the 2020 Venice Film Festival back in September, and earned Regina rave reviews.

One Night in Miami will open in select theaters on December 25 and then it will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on January 15, 2021.

Regina King's Directorial Debut, 'One Night in Miami,' to Get Theatrical Release Ahead of Amazon Debut

Regina King made her directorial debut with the upcoming movie One Night in Miami and now the film’s release plan has been revealed!

The movie had its festival debut last month and earned rave reviews, cementing its status as a frontrunner for the upcoming awards season. Regina could become the first Black woman to be nominated for Best Director at the Oscars, just two years after she won for acting.

One Night in Miami will open in select theaters on December 25, 2020 and then it will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on January 15, 2021.

As Variety reports, the movie “tells a fictional account of one incredible evening, in which Muhammad Ali (Eli Goree), Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge), Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr.) and Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir) gather after Ali defeated Sonny Liston in February 1964.”

Regina said in a statement, “To complete and release a film within the same year is a difficult task. We welcomed the challenge because we knew now was the time for this film to be released. Amazon fully supported our intention and I could not be more excited this prescient story will be seen across the globe.”

Zoe Kravitz Breaks the Fourth Wall in Hulu's 'High Fidelity' Teaser Trailer - Watch Now!

Zoe Kravitz is starring in a gender-flipped version of High Fidelity and the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Hulu series has arrived.

The streaming service will break their tradition of rolling out episodes week-by-week when they launch all episode of the show on February 14.

A departure from Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel and beloved 2000 film, Hulu’s High Fidelity centers on Rob (Kravitz), a female record store owner in the rapidly gentrified neighborhood of Crown Heights, Brooklyn who revisits past relationships through music and pop culture, while trying to get over her one true love.

In the trailer, Zoe breaks the fourth wall and talks to the viewers.

Zoe, who is also an executive producer on the project, is joined in the cast by Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David H. Holmes, Jake Lacy, and Kingsley Ben-Adir.

Kingsley Ben-Adir Cast As Barack Obama in CBS James Comey Miniseries

The role of Barack Obama in CBS Studios’ upcoming James Comey miniseries has officially been cast!

Actor Kingsley Ben-Adir is set to play Barack in the series, according to EW.

He has previously appeared in The OA and Peaky Blinders as well as new Disney+ film Noelle.

Other cast members in the series, based on James’ book A Higher Loyalty, include Jeff Daniels as the former FBI director and Brendan Gleeson as Donald Trump.

No air date is currently set, but the show will begin production on the four-hour mini-series in November.

Anna Kendrick looks pretty enough to go underneath a Christmas tree at the New York screening of her new movie Noelle!

The 34-year-old A Simple Favor actress stepped out for the event held at SVA Theater on Monday (November 11) in New York City.

She donned a white mini dress featuring black polka-dots and a giant black bow covered in crystals.

She was joined by her co-star Kingsley Ben-Adir and director/writer Marc Lawrence.

Eve Plumb, who played Jan on The Brady Bunch, was also there to show her support.
